Beef just wanted to clean his house today.
“Beeeeeeeeef..!” Pause whined, bored, from where he sat on VintageBeef’s couch. “Why can’t we go out and do something today?”
Beef huffed from just outside his door, where he was currently weeding his front lawn, “I have projects that need to get finished around here, and you know I’d be working on them today. It’s not my fault you didn’t plan for other entertainment!” He tossed the last of the offending weeds into the pile with the others that would soon no longer exist.
Walking into his house again, Beef wiped his hands against his apron and observed his sad excuse of a boyfriend who was currently making puppydog eyes at him from the couch.
“That’s not going to work on me today, Pause. Now either help me clean, or go find some entertainment.” He turned away to go wash his hands and gather his cleaning supplies, determined to clean his house from top to bottom today.
He didn’t catch the gleam in Pause’s eyes, nor did he catch the whisper, “I know what I’ll do for entertainment…”

Beef was minding his own business, organizing his chests, when he felt someone hug him from behind. Sighing, he tilted his head to look into the wry grin of one PauseUnpause. “I thought you’d gone and found something to do, Pause. You can’t just keep distracting me all day-I’ll never get anything done!”
Pause leaned his head on Beef’s shoulder, mouth just inches away from his neck. “I did find something to do.” That something is distracting you!, he thought. Pause pressed a kiss to the side of Beef’s neck, and then another, and another, until he was rudely shoved off of his Beefykins by said Beefykins.
“Pause. No. I’m busy.” And with that, Beef gave Pause the cold shoulder and went back to his chests.
Saddened but not deterred, Pause left Beef’s storage room to plot some more, and hopefully catch Beef by surprise.

Beef had moved on to cleaning his living room, which was Pause-free at the moment. He assumed Pause had taken the hint and had gone to visit Millbee or Guude or someone else who wasn’t currently trying to spring clean. He vacuumed the rug, and was vacuuming off the couch with the hose attachment when he felt two hands firmly grasp his buttocks. Annoyed and knowing exactly who it was, Beef kicked back to where he guessed a shin would be, and as luck would have it, made nice, solid contact with a certain Native’s shin bone.
“Ow! Fuck! Beef why?!?” Pause jumped on his one good leg, holding the other with both hands.
Turning off the vacuum, Beef watched Pause hop around, before taking sympathy on him with a sigh. “I suppose I’ll get you an ice pack…” Beef turned to go find some ice, only to have his back pushed up against a wall with Pause’s face taking up all his vision, his leg sliding in between Beef’s.
“Come on, Beef. Leave the cleaning ‘til later. I know something we could do that’s way more fun.” Pause’s eyebrows waggled suggestively, and his thigh brushed invitingly over Beef’s crotch.
Beef sucked in a breath, face warming. He leaned his head back against the wall, and let Pause’s mouth come to rest against his, their lips moving in the easy rhythm they always had. Pause’s hands slipped under Beef’s shirt to touch his back, and Beef wrapped his arms around Pause’s shoulders, moaning in approval when Pause pushed his leg forward, gaining more contact. It feels really good, Beef thought.
Beef’s fingers threaded into Pause’s hair, and Pause separated their mouths, instead aiming for Beef’s neck, when-
The hand in Pause’s hair pulled his head away, his body soon following as Beef extracted himself from the heated situation.
“As tempting of an offer as you make, I’m going to have to decline.” Beef readjusted his clothes, then smiled sweetly at his boyfriend. “I told you that I’m cleaning today, and you’re not going to change that, alright?”
“But-“
“No buts, mister. Now shoo!”
Pause looked down at the ground. Foiled again! he thought, before sighing loudly. “I suppose...” he said mournfully, making sad eyes at Beef as he walked out the door.
I’ll just have to be more clever, is all.

Beef had organized the books around his enchanting table without interruption from Pause, and as he surveyed the final room of his house to clean, (his bedroom), he thought that just maybe, he would actually get his cleaning done in one day this year.
Of course, he didn’t expect to find a naked Native lying suggestively across the red duvet, and he totally didn’t spend a few seconds noting just how great Pause’s tan skin looked next to the vibrant red, nor did he spend a few seconds committing that image to memory.
Not at all.
Recovering from the temporary mental short circuit, Beef’s face changed into something a bit sterner.
“Come on, Pause, I’m trying to clean! I would’ve been done so much quicker if you stopped interrupting me!” he huffed, crossing his arms. Pause just laughed, his eyes twinkling mischievously.
“Don’t deny it, Beefykins. You know I’m more fun than stupid spring cleaning!” Pause’s hands trailed down his body, and Beef eyes did not follow their movement. Nope.
Irritated with both himself and his boyfriend, Beef turned around and walked out of the room, intent on fetching a water bucket to douse Pause with. Pause clambered after him, and caught up to him in the living room. Pause grabbed Beef’s arm, and used it to turn Beef around so that he could look into his dear Beefykins’ eyes.
“I know you wanted to clean today, okay? And I was good and left you alone when you organized your books. But can we pleaaaaaaaase do something now? I promise that I’ll even help you clean tomorrow! Please please please!” Pause pouted, his hand shifting to hold Beef’s.
Beef looked at Pause, then down at their intertwined hands, then back at Pause. He sighed. “I guess my room can wait ‘til tomorrow, then.”
Pause let out a whoop and grabbed Beef’s other hand before pulling them both down onto the sofa, hands reaching for the ties on Beef’s apron.

Pause did keep his word and help Beef clean his bedroom the next day.
However, he did decide to do it in the most distracting way possible- that is, wearing only his headdress.
