Fic: Homework

mindcrackloveOkay, so I've been working on a school AU for a little while and the first fic isn't really finished yet but I was looking on ImagineYourOTP on Tumblr and I found this prompt:
'Imagine your OTP doing homework together, and Person A is really stressed out. Person B leaves for a few minutes and comes back with coffee/tea/hot chocolate for Person A, who smiles for the first time in days and gives Person B a hug, saying how much they appreciate everything they do.'
and this came out of that. It's more friendship than relationshippy, though ImagineYourOTP gives me so many ideas, I might do a collection post of short SMS fics soon ^3^
Humming happily to himself, Kurt returned to his dorm room in the late evening. His day had been quite nice for a Tuesday and he was looking forward to just relaxing for a few hours, finishing off the reams of math homework his class was assigned the same day.
Kurt opened the door and walked to his bed, but noticed his roommate sitting hunched over the desk. Making as little noise as possible, he placed his bag down on his bed and approached the other boy.
“Hello. What are you getting so serious about, Zisteau?” Kurt chuckled as the other jumped a little as he looked up at who had broken his concentration.
“Oh, it’s you Kurt. Well, I’m just getting this damn math homework done…” Zisteau sighed as he waved the papers in Kurt’s face.
Taking the papers, the standing boy flicked through and saw how much progress his roommate had made. “Wait a second…” He placed the papers back down and took two steps to reach his bedside. Kurt pulled out his version of the same math homework and dragged a second chair up to the desk with a sheepish smile, “We can do it together.”
They both shared a smile before Kurt remembered he’d left his sunglasses on the top of his head. He took them off, closed them and placed them in their spot on the desk. Zisteau stared at them for a second before asking, “How do you wear those?” He gestured to the two differently coloured lenses.
“How do you wear that hoodie all the time?” They both looked at Zisteau’s bed to see his zombie pigman designed hoodie crumpled on top of it.
Receiving a small, victorious smile from his roommate, Zisteau grumbled something and turned back to the work, defeated.
For the next two hours, they worked together on the math work. Kurt soon finished it all and attempted to help his friend but Zisteau gave up eventually. The disgruntled boy leant back in his chair and didn’t react to any help Kurt attempted to give him with his work.
Checking his watch, Kurt stood up and rummaged through his bag. From behind him, his roommate’s voice sounded spiteful, “Where are you going? Planning to sneak out after curfew again to meet with your space buddies?”
Kurt flushed slightly but made no response as he picked up his bag and left the room. Once the door shut, Zisteau sat in silence for a few minutes before he stood and began to pace. In the end, he face planted on his bed, groaning in frustration after he glanced back at the desk where his work was splayed out and Kurt’s was in a nice, neat pile. Zisteau sighed and resigned himself to sleep.
The sound of the door handle being pushed down and the door opening intrigued the boy lying on the bed. He pushed himself up to see Kurt placing down two cups on the desk near their respective work before turning to put his bag down on the foot of his bed. He paused when he saw Zisteau looking at him.
“I bought coffee, thought you might need it.” Kurt grinned awkwardly as he busied himself, putting his work away and clearing up Zisteau’s work.
The other boy smiled and jumped up from the bed, “Thanks, man.” He picked up his respective cup and took a swig. “Huh… not the worst coffee I’ve ever had…” Zisteau flashed a grin to Kurt, who’d sat back down in his chair at the desk.
“Guess we should get your work done.”
Zisteau groaned, “Can’t I just copy your answers?”
