Fic: Ending and Beginning
Monday, July 1st, 2013 04:06 amShort thing I wrote tonight. It's late and I'm full of feels from KOTL and the reset (and probably hormones), so forgive any typos and stuff. K/Z
"It's strange to think all this will be gone." Kurt mused quietly. He looked upwards at the huge ladder reaching into the sky.
Zisteau smiled. "Well, it won't be gone completely. Guude was nice enough to let us all make a backup of this world, after all. You can still come back, if you really want to."
"I know... it won't be quite the same though. It won't be this world, the one we've all lived in. Just a sort of frozen copy." He sat back.
"Okay, point taken. But we get to start over, everyone together, everything new and fresh, and we can create an even better, more amazing world." Zisteau gazed out over the landscape they would soon be leaving, his mind already full of possibilities for the new map.
Kurt smiled. "Are you really going to build something better than the Lens?"
"Oh, definitely." Zisteau grinned. "You think you might build another Ladder? You have a knack for it."
Kurt shrugged slightly. "Maybe." He was quiet for a long minute. Zisteau waited, recognising when the other man was lost in thought. When Kurt spoke again, his voice was soft and sad.
"I'm not sure what to feel, really. It's not that I'm not looking forward to moving on, because I am, it's just... there are a lot of memories here." He glanced at Zisteau and half-smiled, blushing.
Zisteau slipped an arm around his waist and pulled him close, smiling as the other man fitted against him like a jigsaw piece in just the right spot.
"I know." He said softly. "And those won't change. We get to keep them, and make new memories, too."
"I suppose that's true." Kurt rested his head on Zisteau's shoulder with a quiet sigh. Zisteau paused for a moment before speaking again.
"I was thinking, you know... maybe we could build a place together, if you wanted to?" He said quietly.
Kurt looked at him, slightly amazed. "Really?"
"Yeah. I mean, I know you like your own space, and you know I do too, but I thought maybe we could do something together as well, somewhere out of the way... just for us. Not even on-camera, unless you wanted to." Zisteau chewed the corner of his lip, inexplicably feeling slightly nervous.
The delighted smile that lit up Kurt's face told him he needent have worried.
"I'd love that."
Zisteau broke into a delighted grin of his own, and kissed Kurt firmly on the lips. "Brilliant."
Kurt chuckled softly. "You have ideas already, don't you?"
"Maybe." Zisteau laughed, squeezing him gently. "Say, we still have a little while... you want to take a last walk around?"
"Yeah, I'd like that."
Hand in hand, they walked back towards the spawn village for the last time.

I like the idea for this one however, and the idea for the small building for the two of them =)
