Ep.1 :

Ahahaha awwww. I love them trying to survive so much.

Beef: (to Guude) Let me make you a stone sword. And a pick. Because I love you.
Guude: Oh man.
Beef: (starts singing to him) I love you, Mr. Guude Boulderfist!
Guude: This has gotten awkward.

Pause makes beds and puts his and Beef's right next to each other and Baj and Guude separate across the room. Guude is first offended he has to sleep with Baj, and then offended that Baj doesn't want to sleep with him. And then Guude breaks his bed and moves it closer to Baj after Baj is already asleep. (Granted, because of mobs, but still...)

Baj: I love angry Guude voice.

Me too, Baj. Me too.

Beef singing was so awesome.

(An early attempt at poly-ness to try and fit better into the whole triangle thing?)

Yeah. I suspect originally the whole poly thing might've sounded appealing to him... I can see how on the surface it might.

Even if he's naturally not-poly, I can see Beef being willing to try.

The stuff with the beds is too funny, and Pause accidentally mining Guude. And Baj and Beef and the skeleton. XD

Guude took a gravel to the head.

Same. On the surface it seems great. Basically, "Always guaranteed sex with Pause, but free to fuck anyone else I want, too!" In practice, it can be a lot more work than he expects, especially if he discovers he's jealous or doesn't enjoy sex without emotional attachment, or doesn't easily emotionally attach to more than one person at a time or any other variety of reasons. But I can totally see Beef thinking he's fine with it at first and realizing later he's not. (And maybe part of that is guilt as to why he feels so bad later, since Pause entered the relationship thinking Beef was poly.)

Aha, yes. Beef's such a nice guy and so into Pause that when Pause says something like 'You know I'm poly, so if we do this it's not an exclusive thing.' and Beef's all 'Sure, no problem.' really thinking it shouldn't be, but it's just not his thing. Then by the time he finds out it's not his thing he can't tell Pause because it's not his fault, and he might feel guilty and possibly break things off for Beef's sake. *sniffle*

I just laughed entirely too much at Baj taking starvation damage.

Yup. Silly Beef feels guilty and yeah. It's his problem to deal with. Poor Beef.


And oh, Baj. Some people just never learn...

...this makes me wonder if Pause's natural flirtiness equipped Beef to better handle playing as different-lady-every-day Wei Shen...

...or if playing Wei Shen is some sort of odd liitle way of Beef trying to be less-than-exclusive, even if only in a game.

I love the interpersonal conflict in this season, something that didn't really come out as much in the first season, like the pressure to not take damage gets to them so much they start going at each other's throats. But even through their disagreements, they're still a team. <3 I think that's what I especially like about this season, and Team Nancy Drew as a group. They can snap at each other but still work together.

Some of my favorite moments: Pause "mining the air," the bed (re)arrangements, the skeleton in the house, and this exchange:

Beef, startled by a zombie: Jesus!
Guude: No, his name is not. This is not Easter.

I love how this season shows the obvious progression to PvP though. The way they start turning on each other and realizing they'll fare better alone without having to watch each other's backs, etc is really starting to show through. And yet, at the same time, I can't believe this is how "bad" they were right before S3. (Then again, as I recall, Baj starves most of the episodes he's in in S3, so perhaps it's not that surprising. XD) But I do LOVE the teams and while they'll probably never do it again, I'd love to see them try to defeat the Enderdragon again.

Or, with the addition of a new boss mob, team season against the wither? They've gotta do something with the wither, right?

Yes, that could be fun. I'd love to even just see Team Nancy Drew do it, to keep it small. Something between UHC seasons.

I have seen this series before and I remember loving it. They're just a bit less tense than the first time, but still enjoying the newness of it and enjoying time together. I would really love to see more co-op UHC in the near future.
