Up for discussion this week, appropriate for both the recent discussions of OOG and the current Group Rewatch of Ultra Hardcore, is the evergreen classic "Anyone But Him" by Gomeric. (Please let me know if the album link does not work for you!)

"Amyone But Him" is probably one of my favorite pieces of fan art. Without the bonus ending panel, it can be interpreted as lovers or as best friends, and Gomeric's interpretation of Guude and BdoubleO is basically how I try to imagine them in my mind - BdoubleO blends with John a little bit more, but Guude basically looks like that in my brain. What can I say, I like my boys skinny and a little bishie XD

The bonus drawing is incredible too - I love PauseunDirt's response and Baj's cynical comment about him. There may be a fic about seeing that inspiring weird feels in Pause that brings him to recognize his live for Beef/Millbee/Mhykol/whoever in that picture somewhere. Hm.

Her Guude is definitely too pretty-boy for me (I like my men rugged, but I also like that Guude's cuddly and picture him with a little more pudge), but I agree that this comic panel series is really epic, and it's definitely one of my favorite pieces of fanart that's come out of Reddit. It shows just how powerful some of the scenes from UHC is, and why it's such an intense series. I could totally see this sort of scenario becoming a full comic or series. I mean, as many people have pointed out, it's basically "The Hunger Games" or "Battle Royale" with a different twist. Gomeric's depiction of events just illustrates how epic it'd be in comic book form.

(And how awesome it'd be to see some of their more innuendo-laden/shippy interactions as drawn vs. more verbal.)

As for Pause getting weird feels, it's interesting that Pause is such a big server flirt, and openly goes on about his boyfriends being Beef and Millbee, etc., but then reacts to them as "gross." I'm guessing it's less to do with "EWWW KISSING" and more of it being like walking in on your parents... I mean, OBVIOUSLY Guude and BDubs are a couple, right? But I can see them being sort of parental-like to Pause... Makes me laugh.

I remember when Guude posted the Dragon*Con video to Reddit, Bdubs replied with "Guude, who is this guy at the end here?" and one person's response was "I hate seeing mom and dad fight!", which made me giggle. OOG is definitely the "parents" of the server in a sense and I can see them being all parental to the younger ones on the server (which is...most of them. Everyone except Baj, Kurt, and possibly Zisteau, I think?)

Beef's 31 (older than BDubs who is only 29), Doc's 34, I believe, and Pakratt 33, maybe? But ages aren't really relevant. BDubs and Guude still feel like the server parents. Beef, too, a little, because he's sometimes the responsible one, but he's not married to the server owner, so... XD It's more like Uncle Beef.

How'd I forget about Beef and Pak on that list? Good gravy. Because it's 1 AM and even though you're awake you're not entirely coherent right now, mod.

Uncle Beef is a cool uncle, he drives cool cars and gives us all the papo seco we'd ever want! XD Pakratt is the crazy genius uncle who tinkers with contraptions all the time and sometimes spouts nonsense but we love him anyway. Kurt tells stories and gives us our first telescope!

...why am I even going on this tangent? what even?
