* Doc talks drinking and his high school/college/early career life.
He actually is Bavarian! If he actually supports Bayern Munich he will become 100% hotter to me, if such a thing is possible. She's not kidding, either.
Ugh, I am not a liquor person AT. ALL. Give me my craft beer. ...you know, it's actually game day today for Bayern, and I really want a Bavarian Weißbier now. Too bad I'm at work. :(
This is the most traumatic story ever. O.o I have never been one to get drunk - getting tipsy really just makes me sleepy so I never feel the need to drink more. And now I have good reason to never, ever consider doing it. O.o
It really will be interesting to get so many Mindcrackers in one place, so many different personalities and approaches to a "good time". Should be fascinating!
Oh, and in the comments: "Doc, is Etho going to Minecon?" "No, he doesn't like crowds that much." "Kidnap him then!" ...crackfic idea?
* Speaking of the benefits of Bdubs expanding his channel, I am helplessly in love with his new Creative Mode series for some reason! I really hope he responds to my query (about roofing non-standard shaped buildings). FEEEEEEEEELS.
* ...oh god, today's Vechs dev commentary episode is over an hour long. O.o
why is angry growly Vechs giving me feelings what is this what is wrong with me o.o
Zomberts and zombles! :D Someone's been watching Mindcrack... :P
Vechs trolling himself over "myah", ahahahhahahaha yes. And then naming all of Team Tunnel Rat except for the ragey native Canadian. Poor Pause. He doesn't have anything named after him, either. :(
Vechs' rant about difficult games makes me wonder if he's played something like Nethack or Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup. And here she goes on the roguelikes again. Because well, Dwarf Fortress stole "death is fun" from roguelikes, and that seems to be up Vechs' alley, crazy difficult games that are still balanced and beatable and complex and fun.
It's always cool to hear creative people talk about their motivations and what makes them happy, and Vechs' talk on where Super Hostile fits into Minecraft is no different. He's gotten a lot of success for good reason, and it's definitely nice to see.
* Oh god, speaking of the mod's obsession with roguelikes and roguelike-likes... MILLBEE IS DOING A LET'S PLAY OF FASTER THAN LIGHT OH MY GOD YES YES YES YES YESSSSSSSSSSSSS. I haven't been this excited for a Millbee LP since Spelunky!
Pause is the first crew member Millbee names on the SS Mindcrack. D'awwww. :3 Also MC Gamer (kappa yay!) and Genny. He places them crew-wise according to how they fare in Minecraft, which is very sweet. :D
LOL "this Jones guy is lame!" I wish you could rename the "stray" crew members you pick up, it'd be nice to keep the Mindcrack theme intact. Something to recommend to the FTL guys for the future?
"Hope no one's wearing a red top", haha.
"This is my fantasy, to control these people in my life." Oh reaaaaaaally, Millbee? *eyebrow wiggle* Dom!Millbee keeping Pause's rage in check, teaching Genny something and/or being a hero figure for MC to adore? OH GOD WHAT EVEN ARE THESE THINGS I'M FEELING.
D'awwwwwwwww, Millbee's dog! :D
OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! :( :( This *is* disastrous! And Millbee's so quiet afterwards, like it hurts so personally. Oh Millbee. :(
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand Yet Another Sad Death. Oh roguelikes/roguelike-likes, you cruel mistresses. But yes, this series will be fun, and I can't wait for more!
EDIT: Sorry I keep changing the theme, but this time around it should be easier to see which button goes to "reply to this comment" and which one goes to "reply to the entry as a whole", while still preserving proper case for font titles and generally being easy on the eyes and readable. I might fuss with colors and fonts later today, though. If you have any suggestions or comments about the theme, please let me know!

Date: Wednesday, September 19th, 2012 07:27 pm (UTC)This may be relevant to my interests. >_> Or at least just a tiny bit in that direction. I wish I could actually finish something. Spent most of my so-called writing time the last 24 hours playing Minecraft. :)

Date: Wednesday, September 19th, 2012 08:21 pm (UTC)Also, there is a way to actually change the text of the reply and comment buttons, but I don't know if you can make the distinction between entry and post...I think they think that noticing the lack of 'thread' or knowing where you are in the post is just something people can do. The size change does help. Then again, I've been using Livejournal for at least seven years, it's just easy for me. I can poke around back at my Livejournal, but I'm not sure if Dreamwidth has all the same options...

Date: Wednesday, September 19th, 2012 08:32 pm (UTC)I'm going back and forth between appreciating a little color and wanting the stark grayscale that I kind of associate with the Mindcrack logo itself. But I know if I go down the rabbit hole that is customized coloring I *really* will not get anything done at work, so it'll have to wait a few hours. :P

Date: Wednesday, September 19th, 2012 08:10 pm (UTC)Oh yes, the reply buttons. I've made that mistake a couple of times (then immediately deleted and reposted). I don't suppose there's a way to change the text to specify "reply to comment" and "reply to entry"?
