"Here Goes Nothing" Part 1

mindcrackloveYes, I am back in the saddle. Unfortunately, I am in a different saddle than I was originally. But whatever. Here is my newest brain-child: Here Goes Nothing. Enjoy! Please give feed-back and constructive criticism, I know I need it.
What am I supposed to do now? Can I tell him how I feel? I didn’t feel that way before. Heck, I don’t even know where he lives. I’m sure Guude knows, but can I ask him? He might figure it out, and then… yeah, that might not be the best idea. And even if I knew where he lived, what would I say? “Hello, I only met you a couple of days ago, but I really like you and…” yeah, no.
I went through the nearest Twilight portal and took to the skies, looking for the tallest tree I could find, a tower tree. There were several in the immediate vicinity, so I landed softly on the nearest one and sat on the leaf blocks, my feet dangling off the edge of the tree top. I closed my eyes and tried to clear my mind. The sound of the wind blowing through the trees made a sound almost like a jetpack, but softer. It was calming to listen to the birds, pecking seeds off the ground far below in between chirps. I started to hum a song, one that was appropriate for the occasion. It was Maundy Thursday, and I was getting ready to observe Easter. Of course, not everyone would be joining me in my celebration. I only hoped enough people would show up that I could actually get a couple of praise songs going.
“Hey.”
I jumped at the sound, losing my balance and falling off the tree. Luckily, my jetpack was on hover-mode. I landed on a lower branch and took a moment to collect myself. Is that… Was that really him? How did he find me? What does he want? Realizing he was probably waiting on me to come back up, I left the branch and hovered to the edge of the tree, where I landed (less gracefully than I would have liked). “Hi!” I said, trying to sound normal but unable to fully meet his eyes.
“Hey, I was just trying to find you. What are you doing up here?” he asked.
“Oh, well…” I took a breath, “I just come up here to, you know, clear my head.”
“Is there something bothering you?”
I had known that question was coming next. I shrugged, “No, not really, I just get… frustrated sometimes.”
“Oh, ok. I understand. Well, I wanted to find you and see if you could help me.”
Help? With what could someone so smart possibly need my help? “Yes? What is it?”
“Well, I’m trying to find an enchanted forest, but I don’t want to go alone, cause if something happened, who knows if anyone would ever find me. So, would you like to go?”
My heart was beating in my ears. “Yes!” I said, then realizing my over-enthusiasm. “I mean, yeah, I can go.”
“Great. I’ll meet you at the spawn Twilight portal tomorrow, 9:00?”
“Sounds good. I’ll see you tomorrow.” I watched as he hovered away, back toward the portal I had originally come through. I couldn’t believe it. I was about to go on an adventure with BTC.
