Journey Chpt. 4: Emotion

mindcrackloveZisteau notices something about Kurt.
It had been a few weeks since Zisteau had joined Kurt. Zisteau had told Kurt a lot about himself and how his life was before he left. Though, Kurt didn't really tell Zisteau much of anything.
Zisteau had noticed something about Kurt: he never seemed to be happy. He never saw a smile on his face, only ever his lips pressed into straight lines. He also noticed Kurt's eyes, they always looked devoid of any emotion.
Zisteau was very curious about this, but ever since he meet Kurt he'd found that Kurt was very reserved and shy.
Over the few weeks they'd been traveling together, Zisteau had started to have feelings for Kurt. He thought Kurt was adorable and he loved how Kurt was awkward and nerdy.
But, Zisteau found it hard to tell what Kurt felt. He never showed any emotion what so ever.
Zisteau brought himself out of his thoughts and looked up from the fire, finding Kurt staring up at the night sky.
"Hey Kurt" Zisteau says, getting the other boys attention.
"Hmm?"
"What do you find so interesting about the stars?"
"Well... there just so intriguing. each one is millions of miles away, yet we can still see them shinning brightly."
"Huh.... Guess I never thought about it like that." Zisteau says, looking up at the night sky.
"Why is there one star that's brighter than the rest?" Zisteau asks, looking back to Kurt
"It's the North Star. It'll always lead you home"
Zisteau saw a spark of interest in Kurt's eyes, the only real emotion he'd ever seen there.
"Hey Kurt... can I ask you something?"
"Uh... sure..." Kurt answers
"What was it like where you lived?"
"It was... boring I guess.... I wasn't really popular or anything. It's a very small town, were I'm from, so everybody knows each other. Just your usual town I guess"
"Weren't popular?"
"I dunno.... I guess I just didn't fit in..."
"What about your family?"
".... I'm gonna go to sleep Z...." Kurt says, laying down, his back facing Zisteau.
Zisteau had seen sadness in Kurt's eyes and he had put it there. Zisteau wondered why talking about family was a touchy subject.... Maybe he'd had issues with his family before he left.
Zisteau was left to wonder.
