Kurt's POV
"GUUDE" I yell, banging on his front door.
A startled Guude answers the door a few minutes later.
"What's wrong?!? and do you have any idea how late it is?!?"
"This is important Guude! I found something while researching."
"Oh god.... come in and tell me everything."
Guude closes the door behind us and makes his way to a couch and takes a seat. I choose to stay standing, unable to stay still.
"I was looking at the most recent star chart I was given, and a lot of the stars are gone, and a lot more becoming dimmer.... But when I zoomed in.... I saw... well.... a star exploding......"
"Wait.... as in back on earth?"
"Yeah.... the stars are disappearing."
"How is that a bad thing exactly?"
"The stars are all balls of gas, and the sun is a star."
Guude's eyes widen "oh...."
"And, the earth us just close enough to be in the blast radius. and, if it missing the earth, the earth will freeze over. either way, eliminating all life."
"Shit....."
"That's why we're here! that's what this experiment is all about! Earth is going to be void of all life. they're trying to create a world for everyone to go to. they're trying to save humanity!"
"We need to talk to Dinnerbone. now." Guude states
"Indeed we do."
As if on cue, Dinnerbone appears in the room beside me.
"We want answers. now." Guude states "no more bullshit."
"Fine, since Kurt's already figured part of it out...." Dinnerbone pauses, a quizzical look on his face "You got most of it right, Kurt. The stars are exploding. most of the public don't know, only the top scientists do, but nobody can explain it. The earth is doomed, we all know it. that's why we brought you all here, we want to save humanity, we want to preserve what all of our ancestors fought to preserve."
"How long do we have until it happens?" I ask
"We aren't sure, but we fear that time is running out."
"How do you expect to get everyone from earth here?" Guude asks
"There will be different worlds within this realm. each person will be assigned to one, but can travel between the worlds freely."
"If you had to guess, what would be your estimate for how much time is left?" I ask
"If we're lucky... maybe a......"
