Who Said Gaming Skills Aren't Useful? It's kinda a mouthful, so I shortened it :D
This was NOT written by me. Well, not entirely by me. It was written by a group I'm part of, called the UnlitMidnightWriters.
I hope you enjoy, if you want to read ahead, check out our wattpad or check the doc .
Etho was currently sitting at the bottom of a fountain hiding from his pursuers, to his dismay . After climbing out, Etho headed back to the hotel to change into dry clothes. Mumbling under his breath, Etho quickly glanced around before swiping his keycard in the electronic lock and slipping into his room. Changing into a plain, white t-shirt and a pair of ripped jeans, he quickly checked the protective gauze on his arms and decided it needed a changing. Etho grabbed more gauze and rewrapped the left arm, then the right. Looking at his still-packed suitcase, he was suddenly struck by an idea. What if he disguised himself…. as Etho? Pulling out a ninja mask, he put on a green flask vest over a blue shirt. He finished putting on the disguise and finalized it by pulling the forehead protector over his left eye and putting on a sign that said ‘I’m Etho’.
Standing in front of the mirror, he adjusted his cosplay. He grinned. Perfect.
Etho headed out and sneaked through the halls.
“Etho?”
Etho spun around and stared at Antvenom, still sneaking. “Um… No?”
Ant facepalmed. “Real smooth, reaaaal smooth.”
Etho put a hand behind his head. “Well… um… Is it really that bad?”
“Everyone knows you’re the worst actor, next to Zisteau. Anyways, want to head over to the gaming center? I heard they’re unveiling a new game by Microsoft.”
Etho nodded. “I wonder what it is?”
Ant headed over to the gaming center with Etho trailing behind, dejectedly.
On the way there, the two were joined by Vechs and Aurey, locked in a conversation about their next collab. From there, the group managed to make it into the center without too many interruptions. On the way there, they also found Chad, who was still hiding himself. The group headed over and joined up with Guude and Sky. Together, they headed over to the unveiling.
Sneaking into the back rows, they prepared themselves for the usual fanfare that surrounded a Microsoft showcase. More Triple A Games, some Indie stuff. You know, the usual.
After they sat through the introduction, to their surprise, Minecraft was the first up. Big lights and a cannon full of confetti later, they announced it was an actual virtual reality version. Using sensors and pairing it with the Oculus Rift, you could play Minecraft as THE player.
Everyone collectively gasped as the show went on. Antvenom immediately rushed to the stage as to demonstrate it without being asked for volunteers. Luckily, the lady who was presenting the game knew who he was, quickly incorporating him into presentation, as if this was all planned.
“Ladies and gentlemen, famous YouTuber Antvenom will now try the Youcraft!”
Everyone agreed that the name sucked. But who cared? Minecraft, IN REAL LIFE?
Sky seeing Ant up there, ran up and somersaulted onto the stage.
The lady hesitated for a second, before introducing him as well.
Jokingly, she called into the audience. “Any other famous YouTubers that would like to join us?”
Don’t ask how, but Pyro hand glided down from the ceiling, landing right in front of a very bewildered lady. Following him was a few more people, an entourage of fans and some lesser known YouTubers. “Tada! Did someone call?” Pyro struck a pose and stroked his invisible mustache. Pyro twirled his cane and tossed it into the the sea of Minecrafters and Minefantics.
Etho facepalmed. Wow. He really just did that.
The lady’s eye seemed to twitch, and Etho seriously questioned if this was planned.
“No cheering? Aw, you guys are no fun.” Pyro lowered something down from the roof. It seemed to be a game booth for Youcraft.
Again, was this planned or what? In any case, it was a pretty cool show.
Everyone leaned forward in their seats, eager to see the new game.
Antvenom walked into the booth and waited for the lady to attach the sensors. Antvenom put on the Oculus Rift and the game was projected onto the screen.
Antvenom was immediately dropped into a generated world and the first thing he did was check himself out.
“Cool, I have my skin on. Wow, this is really detailed actually.” He proceeded to punch a tree.
The whole audience had their eyes glued to Ant as he walked around the world, murmuring at everything that he did, from punching a pig to crafting a sword.
Sky watched as Ant ventured about caving, killing hostile mobs, and avoiding lava. As Sky watched he noticed something odd. The stage looked familiarly like dark oak planks. Maybe Sky was hallucinating.
