My prompt was from vampiricnathanial, and I chose - Vechs and Millbee high school au! Just because it would be really difficult >:D

It was really difficult, partly because I haven't been to a high school (Due to living in Britain), and I haven't really written shippy stuff a lot either. It's not the best, but anyway...

Millbee groaned as he desperately tried to move the dial in the front of the locker. He looked at the slip of paper once again, then at all of the things he had brought to put in his locker that were scattered around at his feet. 4734, it was the right one, but the dial was still firmly stuck. He kicked the locker and was just about to walk off when he heard a chorus of sniggering behind him.

Three boys who looked at least one or two years older than him were leaning on the lockers a few feet away. He turned around and eyed them suspiciously, they stopped talking and turned to face him. The tallest of them stepped forward, towering over him. He was really tall and bulky, his muscles bulging under a red t-shirt and dark jeans, a pair of green-tinted sunglasses in his pocket. The other two had also stepped out from behind him and he could see now that one of them had purple eyes. Was he wearing contacts? The third, and smallest of the trio was wearing nearly all dark grey with a horned skull emblazoned on his T-shirt. His face also had a slightly skeletal appearance, his hollow eyes fixed on Millbee.

He considered trying to collect his stuff and sidling away, but the leader of the trio had grabbed his shoulder. There was no running away.

“You need any help?” Red-Shirt asked mockingly. The others sneered at him.

Just about managing to keep his voice steady, he replied: “No. I was just going,” and moved to pick up his stuff, but the others moved behind him.

Skull-Face moved in closer. “You’re not from around here, are you?” Millbee shook his head.

“I’m Welsh. I also have to go, please and thank you” He pushed past them, wishing he had opened the locker so he could now slam it forcibly in their faces. He hurried down the corridor in what he hoped was the right direction to his first lesson. It was the first day, and he had already been confronted by bullies. He knew that he wouldn’t like it here, he had said, but nobody had listened.

---

“Your dad shag too many sheep or something?” Vechs called down the corridor after the small, brown haired person wearing a rainbow coloured jumper as he skittered off down the corridor.

Nebris turned back towards him. “Always fun, tormenting a few freshmen. See ya at recess!” his gravelly voice called out from down the corridor.

“I’ll be seeing you too.” Blame also turned away.

He watched as the boy in the rainbow jumper with the brown eyes turned the corner at the end of the corridor, not noticing the short, redhead creeping up behind him until she jumped up and pecked him on the cheek. “Aurey!” he exclaimed and returned the kiss, putting his bulky arm around her shoulders. They walked slowly round the corner as the bell rang.

---

Millbee sat with his head in his hands. He hated America. He hated it. He looked up to see a boy with a dinosaur hoodie standing over him.

“What’s wrong? Something bothering you?” His thick Irish accent greeted Millbee warmly, and he stepped aside to reveal another man, wearing an… orange suit?

“Hi. MC. He’s Pyro” he said cheerfully.

“Oh, I’m Millbee. Yeah, everything’s good” he replied, sullenly resting his head on the desk.

Pyro tried to console him. “Don’t worry, I got a lot of grief in middle school ‘cause I was Irish. Nobody cares now.”

They sat down either side of him, just as the teacher came in. A short man with a grey beard and hair placed his books on the desk and wrote his name on the board. Mr Wilson - social studies teacher. Millbee didn’t bother to listen for the rest of the lesson, he was just miserable. Instead he just absentmindedly stared at the board or out of the window thinking of the tall muscular man. He was intimidating, but there was something in his swirling blue eyes that made Millbee inquisitive, he had a feeling that he might just like Red-Shirt eventually...

Many of his lessons were with MC and Pyro, so he just followed them around, while they chatted about unimportant things. The more he thought about Red-Shirt, the less intimidating he seemed to be, In his mind at least When the bell rang for the last time that day, Millbee rushed to the bike sheds, trying not to make eye-contact with anyone he didn’t want to meet, meaning that he almost ran straight into Purple-Eyes. He took a step back, startled.

“Oi! Watch where you’re goin- It’s you!” Purple-Eyes called over his shoulder “Vechs! Come look who had the nerve to come and crash into me”

Red-Shirt, who he now knew was called Vechs, strode over with an expression that looked like he might punch somebody in the face. He also had a feeling that he would be the likely recipient of the said punch. He braced himself, waited. And waited. It never came.

When he dared to open his eyes, he saw that a short, red-haired girl had caught Vechs’ fist and with some difficulty, was restraining him. They were having a heated argument, presumably on the subject of himself. Instead of waiting to hear what they had to say on the matter, he slipped round them, grabbed his bike. Hopefully, he wouldn’t be seeing that lot again. Especially not Vechs, with the enchanting blue eyes…

---

“You owe that kid an apology!” Aureylian snapped, letting go of Vechs’ fist, still tightly clenched into a ball at his side.

“You’re not my mom” Vechs hissed back, not making eye contact with the girl standing in front of him (which was actually quite hard, she was about a foot shorter than he was).

Aureylian had her hands on her hips. “But I am your girlfriend, and right now, you are jeopardizing our relationship.” She stood firm, and he saw no point in arguing, so instead headed out towards the gates with a whispered “I don’t care.” Nebris and Blame followed, silently giggling.

“Man, you got your ass handed to you back there. Aurey is seriously beastly.” Nebris remarked

“You’re not going to apologise, are you?” Blame added.

“Of course not! I’m gonna kick his head in!” Vechs grumbled, storming away. That kid had better enjoy his life for what it’s worth now, Vechs thought as he walked home.

---

Millbee spread his Physics book on the table, beside his sandwich and studied it closely. He really didn’t get this, and his teacher would kill him if he failed this test. He was staring so intently, he didn’t notice a muscular shadow loom up behind him. He only looked up when Vechs blocked his light. Millbee tensed and was ready to spring away, but he didn’t see an angry expression baring down on him, rather one of interest.

“Are you stuck on relativity?” Vechs asked, studying the open book.

He stammered “Y- yeah. Time dilation. I just don’t understand it.” Millbee was very worried at this sudden change of heart, but moved over so Vechs could sit beside him.

Vechs pulled a piece of paper from his pocket and started to explain it to him, very clearly and helpfully, his muscular hands drawing exact diagrams. When they were done, Millbee thanked him and turned back to the diagram, where he saw a phone number written underneath. There was a message next to it: ‘If you ever need help with anything – Physics, Maths and Calculus are my specialities.’ Millbee stuffed it into his pocket and hurried to the next lesson.

---

Vechs shook his head. ‘Why didn’t you punch him? Why?’ He… Just couldn’t. He could see the kid was in trouble, and when those, scared, inquisitive brown eyes stared up at him, he couldn’t bring himself to hurt the guy. He was intelligent too. Urgh. He strode back down the corridor, trying to forget the cute brown eyes and rainbow sweater.

The text came through about a week later while he was standing with Blame by the lockers before school. ‘Graphs. G5. Plz help.’

Blame peeked over his shoulder. “Who’s that?” He asked.

Vechs hid the phone hurriedly. “Nobody. I’m gonna go and get breakfast, see ya in Gym.” Blame looked slightly confused but didn’t object as Vechs turned the corner away from the canteen and towards the maths classrooms.

Millbee was sitting at one of the tables, maths book open. “Can you help me with this?” Vechs leant on the table beside him.

“Ok, so you start here…..” He started explaining, but stuttered when Millbee looked up. Those big brown eyes were staring at him. He broke away, but had an idea. He quickly wrote an equation down onto another piece of paper that he produced from his pocket and said hurriedly “Plot this graph.”

---

Millbee looked at the graph, up at the figure perched on the table beside him, facing away, and blushed. Vechs faced him, his handsome, sharp blue eyes locked on his. His cheeks turned red too, but neither minded.

“It’s a heart.” Millbee stated quietly. They had slowly been edging closer to each other, now their faces were less than a foot away. “Do you-“ His sentence was muted by Vechs’ lips. Everything was in slow motion, surreal almost. When they pulled away, Millbee asked: “Is this time dilation?”

“Sure.” They moved together again, hands clasped around each other, lost in the moment.

Until the bell rang.
