IT'S LATE I KNOW I'M SORRY.
But yeah. I totally forgot to post it and it's my fault and I'm not even going to make up some dumb excuse, because I have no excuse. Forgive me please <3
Anyway, my prompt was given to my by cookicutta! The prompt was:
Trick-or-Treating! (It's close enough to Halloween, right?) Or they all go to a haunted house.
I decided to put a twist on it. It includes all of the Mindcrackers but only some of them are mentioned. No shipping is done in this fic.
Mentions alcohol but it's nothing bad. Takes place in Season 4 map. Also there is a bit of swearing.
Cooki, I hope I've done your prompt justice.
---------------------------------------------------
It was late at night, but there was not one star to be seen. Instead, the sky was covered by a thick blanket of dark clouds. There wasn’t any rain (yet), although you could hear the rumbling thunder in the distance.
Tonight was probably the worst night for it to be raining. Tonight was an event that had been planned several weeks in advance, and everyone was excited about it.
It was Halloween.
Guude looked out of his window, watching the occasional bolt of lightning strike somewhere in the distance. This was an event that he had hoped would bring everyone together again, as lately the group had started to deteriorate and fall apart. He had hoped that finally all of the Mindcrackers could do something together.
But the weather apparently disagreed.
‘Damnit, nature, you had one job’ he thought as the first couple of drops had fallen from the clouds, then being absorbed into the already partly-saturated ground (as it rained often on the server.) Within moments, the rain had started to come down heavily. The sight was a bit depressing.
It reflected Guude’s mood quite well.
-----------------------
A few hundred blocks away at spawn town, there was a large group of people in the server’s town hall. They stood in a crowd, in the center of the giant room. Closer to the entrance, a tall, muscular pigman- Zisteau- looked towards the noisy crowd.
“Helloo! Okay, guys, here’s the deal.” Zisteau announced to the group. Suddenly he had all eyes on him, so he cleared his throat and started to speak. “As most of you are aware of, we were going to do a server-wide trick-or-treating party.”
“We know, get on with it!” a shout from the back of the crowd interrupted. The shout belonged to a tall man with deep purple eyes, which gleamed with delight as he noticed Zisteau’s slight look of annoyance towards him.
“Ahem! Anyways,” Zisteau continued on, looking away from Nebris who now smirked back at him. “We know Guude has been really pumped up about the event, but obviously in this weather, it would be pretty annoying to have to do it in the rain.”
“Ain't that the truth,” muttered Pakratt, who arrived to the short-notice meeting a bit late just as it began to rain, resulting in him getting drenched in rainwater. The comment caused a few chuckles around the room.
“So,” said a clearly agitated Zisteau, getting a bit tired of being interrupted. “We are going to do a little… surprise.” he said with a hint of excitement in his voice.
“Ooh, a prank?” Vechs responded, hearing the excitement in Zisteau’s voice. Anyone who knew Zisteau well would know how much he loved to prank others on the server.
“Not really, but I think it’ll be pretty awesome. Let’s call it a surprise party, if you will. What I need everyone to do right now is to get into their costumes-I told you to bring them- and I’ll discuss it in a second.
“Wait, right now?” Etho responded.
“Yes, right now.” Zisteau countered.
“Right here?”
Zisteau chuckled. “Fine, we’ll all take turns behind the bookshelf over there.” He pointed towards the enchanting table situated on the right-hand wing of the hall. Soon enough, the Mindcrackers had gotten a system going, getting dressed in their costumes as fast as they possibly could.
“Hurry up already!” Pause whined.
“Hold on!” replied MC, who was currently behind the bookshelf.
A long while later, everyone had gotten into their costumes. There were a wide variety of costumes, ranging from scary ones to silly ones (like how Team Canada had dressed up as each other- Pause dressed as Beef, complete with a butcher’s knife and a bloody apron. Beef dressed as Etho, wearing his mask and a wig, and on his left eye he had put in a contact to make it look red. Etho was dressed like Pause, with his feathered headdress and outfit.)
Zisteau spoke up again. “Well, that took a bit longer than expected, but I know this is going to be awesome!” Some Mindcrackers cheered, and they all started heading towards Guude’s house.
Zisteau slowed down to be towards the back of the group. Vechs slowed down to walk beside him. Zisteau looked at him and smiled. “So, you’re a fairy?” he said with a sarcastic tone in his voice.
“No, I’m not, Pigderp.” Vechs chuckled back. “I’m dressed as Fwappy! Can’t you see the bat wings?
“Ah, okay. Thanks for clearing that up.” Zisteau smirked.
Vechs turned back to him. “Well, your costume is pretty awesome!”
“Oh, I’m just wearing my Team America costume, but thanks!” Zisteau replied back.
“Guude is going to love this surprise! He’s been really down lately about the lack of events.”
“Yeah, hopefully this will make up for it.”
-----------------------
Guude sat on his bed, half asleep. His costume he was going to wear tonight hung on his closet door, and right now he was wearing his green t-shirt and soft, gray pajama bottoms. That, plus his cozy bed, was why he was almost asleep, until he heard a loud knock on his door, and his eyes opened.
“Damn it, guy, I was sleepin’! This better be important!” Guude grumbled as he inched his way out from under the covers. He treaded over to his front door through the living room, and during the process he clumsily hit his toe on the foot of the coffee table. “Ow, goddamnit!”
He finally found himself in front of his front door, and he opened it to see 28 pairs of eyes staring back at him. “What the-”
“SURPRISE!” the Mindcrackers called out in unison, and then laughter spread throughout the crowd.
“Holy crap, who…?” Guude was at a loss for words. So instead of saying anything, all he could manage was a huge smile.
“We saw you were kind of sad that the Halloween trick-or-treating party was cancelled,” Aureylian spoke up. “So we thought we’d bring it indoors!”
Guude roared with laughter. “You didn’t have to do all this!”
“Yeah, we did. We thought it would be great for everyone to hang out for a bit.” Zisteau moved to the front of the crowd. “Mind if we enter?”
“Hell yeah, come on in!”
----------------------
Near the beginning of the party, everyone had separated into groups to go into rooms. They would take turns “trick-or-treating” throughout the house. Everyone loved it, both the candy and making fun of each other’s costumes.
But of course, it couldn’t of been an official Mindcrack party if drinks weren’t involved somehow. So later during the party, Bdubs and Zisteau had gotten out a supply of alcohol, and the real party had started.
Later, Zisteau approached Guude and asked him, “So, does this make up for the cancelled trick-or-treating?”
“Heh, yeah. If anything, this is a million times better! Did you come up with the idea?” Guude asked.
“Well, yeah, sort of. I arranged a last minute meeting with the guys, and we all walked to your place. Through the rain. I’ll be surprised if I don’t get any sort of revenge for that later.” Zisteau chuckled.
“Well, this is pretty awesome. Thanks, Zed.”
And with that, the party continued on, everyone ignoring the rain and occasional thunder. They were all together, having fun.
