Woah, where'd this series go? It's been like a month since the prologue was posted!

Yes, I know. If you missed the prologue or just totally forgot about it, then here.

So, I finished this tonight and was pretty determined to post it, so forgive me for silly spelling mistakes and things of the sort. But yay for being productive!

Anyway, here you go.

-----------------------------

Kurt sat down on a small ledge next to a large lava pool and a small vein of redstone. Beads of sweat rested on his forehead, partially from the hot, bubbling lava not five yards away from him and because he had been running around the monstrous cave for hours.

He was almost positive that he had checked each branch of the cave at least two or three times. He knew Zisteau had been here because there were small, unnatural holes every so often in the cave walls where there had obviously once been ores.

He stood back up and wandered the cave for some more time. Had something bad happened to him? Maybe he encountered too many creepers, maybe he was blown up. Maybe- oh, God, Kurt didn't want to even think of worse things. Maybe he was shot by some wandering skeleton. Oh, jeez.

As Kurt approached an abandoned mineshaft branch, one that he was sure that he had come across, a bat flew out in front of his face, causing Kurt to jump. He was already startled enough by the sudden disappearance by Zisteau, he was not in the mood to be jumped by anything as silly as a bat. Maybe Zisteau was bitten by a wild bat with rabies- no, wait. He needed to stop thinking about all the bad things that could have happened to him and focus.

Kurt kept walking down the narrow mineshaft until he came up to the beginning of a creaky bridge hanging over a deep ravine. He realized that he didn't recognize this part of the cave system. He began to cross the hastily-constructed wooden bridge, not wanting to look down. However, he found his eyes wandering down, down down, until he noticed what he was standing over. Under the wooden bridge was a huge pool of scalding hot bubbling lava.

'Oh, sweet baby Jesus,' he thought to himself. He slowly picked up his foot only to be greeted by the loud creak of the planks below him. He decided to just stand still for a second, just to gather the mental confidence to actually move along. As he waited, it seemed irresistible to take a peek at what other things were in this ravine other than a big, scary, dangerous lava pool.

Near the bottom of the ravine, he noticed something. It was a small room constructed of stone brick, one wall open to the hot lava. A stronghold? There were other blocks in this room though, so unless someone had altered the stronghold, it was definitely player-constructed. He decided to go check it out, maybe Zisteau had done the same.

He finally got the confidence to cross the bridge. His feet slowly made their way across the bridge, each step causing it to creak louder than he ever thought possible. 'Slowly, slowly, you're doing good. Almost there...' he thought to himself. Finally his feet touched a solid stone floor, and he let go of a breath he didn't realize he was holding.

He then scaled the edge of the ravine, holding onto the rocks so hard his knuckles turned white. Slowly but surely he made his way over and down to the small room he had seen, and he was able to maneuver his way inside the small entrance.

Well, that went surprisingly well.

Kurt looked up to see that the small room was actually a small hallway made of stone brick, with 3 iron doors on either side and an open doorway at the end of it. He peeked through each iron door, and it seemed as though the rooms behind them were pretty much identical. A small gray room, with nothing but a very uncomfortable looking bed, the thin red sheets plastered with holes and worn out spots. It was almost as if he had found his way into a prison.

After he had looked through each door, he headed towards the open doorway at the end of the hall. He stepped through the door to find himself in the middle of a larger room. The walls were again made of old stone bricks, giving off the same dungeon-y prison-y feel. The only light in the room was from a few torches hung on the wall, giving the room an eerie glow. Each of the walls had more doorways branching off of them, branching off to even more doors.

Oh, I'm going to be here a while.

Vechs situated himself at his desk in the corner of his small room. He laid out the items he had in front of him- a few glass bottles, and of course- the syringe. Inside was a translucent pinkish liquid- player AI. Usually this substance was impossible to get, because obviously if you were to take a sample from someone you would normally get blood. But Vechs had a trick to changing AI of mobs- same way he made mobs in his maps obey his commands.

Vechs emptied the contents of the syringe into one of the glass bottles. He then carefully carried it over to the opposite corner of the room; his brewing station. He placed the bottle on the brewing stand. Now all he had to do was keep it safe, so he could save it for when he would return it back to the original owner.

He giggled at the thought of it- Zisteau being under his control. As of this moment he was locked in a cell, deep in the maze of passageways, yet he knew exactly where he was. Then suddenly a wave of worry flooded over him- what if someone found Zisteau?

Anyone who would try to find Zisteau would either get lost in the passageways, or if they were lucky enough to even find him, it would take them so long Vechs would have already convinced Zisteau that he was his pigderp, and no one else's. Specifically Kurt's.

This is gonna be good, Vechs though with a smirk.

Kurt wandered the passageways for what seemed like hours upon hours. It was like the cave all over again. Revisiting paths he had already crossed three times before, he quickly got frustrated. He was making no progress whatsoever.

Not to mention mobs, mobs everywhere. It was terrible. Almost every turn he would make we would get a not-so-friendly greeting from a creeper, or something just as bad.

All of this wandering and Kurt didn't even know for a fact that this was where Zisteau had gone. It would seem that if he'd been walking for this long he would have eventually ran into him. But Kurt just had this feeling in his gut that this is where he could be.

"Zed!" he yelled, although he wasn't sure why. This maze was so monstrous, even if Zisteau was in here and had heard his yell, he wouldn't know where to find him.

Kurt turned yet another corner, resulting in the discovery of yet another dead end. Thankfully there were no monsters lurking in this small section of the maze, so Kurt decided to sit down for a moment. He took in his surroundings- more stone brick (he swore that after he got out of here he would never want to see another stone brick ever) and more doors. What a shocker.

Kurt peeked into the first 3 doors of the hallway, only to see more cells. He approached the last door in the hall, and his heart stopped. Lying down in the middle of the floor was a pigman, on the opposite side of the door.

His heart skipped a beat. It was Zisteau! Kurt began to kick the door, with no prevail. Then he remembered a crucial piece of information- Kurt. You have a pickaxe, you goof.

He started to break down the door, and it eventually was knocked down, hitting the ground with a loud CLANG. He hurried over to Zisteau, shaking him to wake him up. Zed's eyes wouldn't open. Oh God. Is he dead? Don't let him be dead. Kurt quickly felt for a pulse, and was relieved when he felt something. Although, he was unconscious, and they were practically in the middle of a huge maze.

Kurt sighed, picked up Zisteau and held him like he was giving him a piggyback ride, and went off to find the entrance of the series of passageways.

Wow. Writing is hard late at night. I need to go to sleep. But not until I go on YouTube for another hour or so.

Also, I ran out of ideas on how Vechs actually got the AI. I just made something up. Hope it wasn't too vague.

Please please PLEASE tell me of any dumb mistakes or ways I can improve. It's very much appreciated.
