Etho's Hunt Chapter 3: Checking Out

mindcrackloveAlrighty guys, chapter four! Enjoy! (Side note....Freezy did most of the work so she deserves the praise. :P)
BdoubleO looked at the new library that he was helping build. Spotting a tile in the thatch that was crooked, he grabbed his ladder. He positioned the ladder correctly and started to climb. "Come here ya lil-" he was suddenly interrupted by a new voice.
"Hello?" The new voice suddenly intervened.
"Hello! Who's creeping around makin' people have heart attacks?" Bdubs answered. He who bled on the ladder. It started to fall.
"Oh it's just me, Vechs. I came looking for a book." Vechs strolled in with his arms innocently behind his back.
"We'll duh. It's a library!" Bdubs shot back. BdoubleO and Vechs had never been enemy's but they'd never been friends either. Bdubs had disapproved when Vechs trailed after Aurey like stray dog.
"So you gonna just stand there and stare at me or you gonna search for your damn book?" Bdubs failed at holding his temper in check.

"I was just wondering if you knew where the book called Harvest the Night is? I need it for something." Vechs didn't catch on to the anger.
"Do I look like freaking librarian?" Bdubs growled. Vechs rolled his eyes. The ladder had had enough.
The ladder wobbled and dropped Bdubs to the ground. "Dammit!" He yelled on impact. Vechs just wandered off. Bdubs was clearly in a mood. Grumbling, he stood up and brushed himself off. The tile seemed to taunt him from its place on the roof. There were more footsteps behind him. "I done told you I'm not a damn librarian!"
"I never said you were!" Warm breath tickled Bdubs ear. He froze as cold metal met his throat.
"Look. I'm sorry for shoutin, I thought you were someone else. I swear. Just, please. I didn't mean it!" Bdubs was begging shamelessly.
"Oh, yes beg. I like to see my victims sacred!" Bdubs whimpered as the knife was pressed harder on his throat.
"Please! I have a daughter and a wife! Oh please! I won't tell anyone!" Tears streamed down Bdubs cheeks
"That's what they all say." The killer slid the knife across Bdubs neck, watching the blood drain out. An evil laugh escaped the murderer. He looked around and muttered to himself "Damn. Should of made him give me the book first." He pulled out the first book to the series. "Alright, now, I know it's here. I need it for the ritual." The killer said as he skimmed through the book. Pages flashed by. He stopped. A picture of a book caught his eye. "That's it! Harvest the Night!" His eyes widened with excitement as he stalked around the library. But the book was nowhere to be found. The murderer couldn't find it. It'd gone home with Vechs. He'd left mere minutes before the killer had gotten there. The killer cursed and set out to find the book in the new library in the hopes it had gotten left behind. After hours of searching, the sun was rising. He discovered the book was no longer there. It was checked out by Vechs. "Dammit! Vechs, your time is closing!" He went silent. The library door suddenly opened.
"Hello! I'm sorry sir, but this library is closing in five minutes." The killer tried to get the new comer to leave.
"But...it's the morning. Where's Bdubs? Who are you?" The intruder asked.
"It's....MC!" The killer hesitated picking a name.
"Oh, hi MC! Have you seen Bdubs? What're you even doing here?" The sudden interruption left the killer careful of his words.
"Bdubs went to go get a new set of tiles for the roof! He didn't like these ones. I'm here, making sure nothing happens. He did ask for no one coming in though. I'm really sorry!" His lies were executed flawlessly.
"Oh....okay. Can you tell him to call Pause when it's done? I really need a book." Pause identifying himself with his request.
"You got it!" The killer smiled to himself as the door shut.
The murderer snuck out from the library, leaving Bdubs body to be discovered. His next target, the current keeper of Harvest the Night. Vechs.
