Soooo... hello peoples! I'm River! I've been loitering in the comments section for the past few months, but I thought I'd come out here and post an hello as a first post and transition from lurker to an active community member. I'd just like to say a big thank you for this community for providing endless entertainment and happiness (and a range of other emotions) for when I need to get my mind of the serious stuff in life. :)


A little more about me... My favorite Mindcrackers are Etho and Arkas. Etho has this amazing mixture of nice-guy and cheeky prankster that is extremely attractive. I like Arkas' sense of humor which is coming out more and more as time goes by. And watching him build is like watching an artist paint a masterpiece. My OTP is Parkas, though Nebtho comes a close second place. I think the next post from me will be the Parkas drawing I've been working on based off milestofu's fic "Show Me Your Teeth". I've always love her portrayal of Parkas.

I've also got a few fanart ideas in mind, and a multi-chapter fic which I have drafted a first chapter to, and have ideas for the rest of it, but I don't think it'll see the light of day for a long time, as I hope to get most of it written before posting so that I can post regularly. I wouldn't want to start posting a multi-chapter fic, only to stop at an awkward place and get stuck.

Outside of mindcrack, my favorite tv show and movie is Firefly and Serenity, which is where I got my name. The characters in the show were so relatable to me, in particular River Tam, who seemed to almost be an huge exaggeration of me, with added gracefulness and awesomeness. I don't have much more time than that for tv due to my prioritizing my free time for watching mindcrack, and my studies (first year at uni, studying Architecture.)

Anyways, I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you better. :)

Etho/Nebris was my OTP before Parkas became a thing. :)

Same with me! Both parings have a significance to me not only because I love their interactions of character, but Nebtho was the first mindcrack pairing I read, and the Parkas finale was actually the first UHC I watched and was my introduction to Arkas thanks to my subscription with Pause.

Basically the whole way I found mindcrack was Youtube Suggestion->Captainsparklez->Etho->Pause->Rest of mindcrack. And thank goodness that happened!

My introduction to Arkas was through the Parkas UHC as well! I instantly fell in love with him and wondered why I never paid any attention to him prior. I really love Parkas' interactions with each other. It's a shame no one really writes them.

I found Mindcrack through Pause inadvertently, so I guess it's fitting I found my now favorite Mindcracker through him as well.

I would love to be able to write Parkas, but I haven't had any inspiration and creative ideas yet. I wish they would interact more with each other so that I have more food for thought. And I really feel like I've watched Arkas grow in confidence and really reveal his character over the last few months, which I have really enjoyed.

My problem is I end up with too many ideas and then I never write any of them. Ah well, it's the thought that counts I suppose! But yeah, it's been super cool to watch him grow. Granted, it's only been a few months, but he's really been coming into his own compared to the older videos of his that I have since watched. It's really exciting! :)

Maybe we should try doing a collab some time (you know, once I've completed the fan art I've planned to do). I've never done something like that before, so it'll be a learning curve, but it could be fun! Though I'm quite a slow worker which might get annoying...who knows. :P

Nah, it wouldn't annoy me (I'm not that fast of a worker myself whoops). I'd totally be down to do a collab, though. Collabs have always sounded fun to do but I've never had the opportunity to really collab on something with someone writing wise before. So, if you're interested, then yeah, sure! I'd be game. :)
