mindcracklove | Lords of Minecraft FAQ and Coord-Swap!

So, there's been a new game mode added to the PlayMindcrack server called "Lords of Minecraft." There are 9 lords in all, and each lord may pick up to 3 squires. I will edit this post later to list all the lords and current squires.

So, the question you may be asking is... How do I play? Well, you will find the answers to the most common questions below the cut!

Q: I can't get into Lords of Minecraft! Why doesn't it work?
A: You have to have 501 gold in your bank to get onto the Lords of Minecraft sub-server.

Q: What happens to my 501 gold?
A: Absolutely nothing. It's not pulled from your bank, the server just counts to make sure you have it before letting you on.

Q: If I have a plot, do I still have to have 501 gold in inventory?
A: No. As long as you are listed as a plot-owner (by either buying or renting a plot) then you can access the server, provided it isn't full.

Q: Do I have to be a Patron to get onto the server?
A: Only if the server itself is full, which I haven't seen happen yet. It has a lot of slots.

Q: What are these Small Gold Nuggets in my inventory?
A: Players receive a 20 gold nugget allowance in their inventories at the start of each week they play.

Q: How many plots can I buy/rent?
A: One. Whether you are buying, renting, or sharing a plot, you can only have one at a time.

Getting Started:

The server plops you down in the middle of Market Square on your first visit. This is also the place you go to if you use ./spawn in chat. There are a few things in the Market Square that you should take care of right away.

Some villagers have set up shop in stalls outside the buildings. That should be your first stop.

Real Estate Agent: You can get a few things here that are very important if you plan to own or rent a plot.

Blank Plot Lease - costs 5 gold. These are used to rent a plot. Simply right-click on a plot with it to see how much it costs, and then use /rent [amount] while standing on the plot to rent it for 30 days.
Blank Plot Deed - costs 50 gold. These are used to purchase a plot permanently. Buying is generally not recommended at this point, as not only is the price 16x that of a rental, but buildings can be destroyed due to server events.
Plot Greeting, Plot Farewell - costs 50 gold. These are used to make a message that people see when they enter or leave your plot. The Lords prefer for these to be signed so they can pick Squires more easily.
Gold Voucher (100 gold) - costs 100 gold. See Currency Exchange for more information.

General Goods: The things you will most likely need are listed below. There are of course, more things available, but they're pretty self-explanatory. ;)

Wooden tools, torches, buttons, pressure plates, ladders, levers, redstone torches.
Chest - costs 50 gold. Only you or shared plot members can access this.
Donation Chest - costs 100 gold. Other Peasants/Lords can put things in by right-clicking on the chest with the desired gift, but only you, Lords, or shared plot members can remove items.

Currency Exchange: This is your primary source for Small Gold Nuggets. Nuggets are worth 5 gold, and are typically used as RP currency on the server for spaces such as restaurants, tollbooths, etc. Your in-game gold or gold vouchers can be converted into nuggets here.

NOTE: Nuggets and Gold Vouchers are currently the only way currency can be exchanged between players.

5 Small Gold Nuggets - costs 25 gold
20 Small Gold Nuggets - costs 100 gold or a gold voucher
Gold Voucher: 100 gold - costs 20 small gold nuggets. These can be used to give currency to other players. Once obtained, gold vouchers can be used to buy/rent plots, or pay rent towards a plot. Usage: Right-click with a gold voucher while standing on your plot to put it towards your rent.

Once you've got your essentials, it's time to head out to a district and find a plot! District portals can be accessed by going back through the portal at spawn/Market Square. The only district currently without a portal is the Pauper's District, and it can be found on the edge of the Slums, towards the wall.

I have a plot! Now what?

Now that you have a plot, you're going to need some building materials. Time to head back to Market Square using a portal or /spawn!

Each of the villagers inside the buildings will sell materials for a specific district. You can only interact with the main villagers (Real Estate Agent, General Goods, Currency Exchange) and the villager for your plot's district. Each purchasable block will cost a set amount of gold, which you can see by hovering over the object.

Now, this is important to know before you start building: Blocks broken on your plot are not dropped or returned to your inventory. They are gone. Poof! Plan your builds accordingly. The same goes for any blocks you toss out of your inventory with the Drop key.

Once you've got your materials figured out, you can return via the portals, or use /home to return within a few blocks of your plot.

Each district has specific height and depth limits, which can be found on www.playmindcrack.com/lords.

Server commands:

/bank or /gold will show the amount of gold in your PMC bank account.
/spawn will take you directly to the Market Square.
/home will bring you back to your rented or purchased plot.
/rent will show how far ahead your rent has been paid, and what your rental amount owed is.
/rent [amount] will rent the plot you are standing on.
/payrent [amount] will pay the amount you write towards your rental period.
/buy [amount] will purchase the plot you are standing on.
/abandonplot will remove your ownership of the plot, and cause an explosion. You will not be refunded your gold or any items on the plot. In the case of shared plot members, ownership will be transferred to the other plot members.
/shareplot [playername] will allow your plot to be accessed by another player. This player will gain co-ownership of the plot and be able to build/destroy anything on it, so pick carefully.

In other news, I would like to direct you to The Olivine Pub in the Dwarven District!
I do not have the direct cords, but I do have directions.
Okay, so go through the portal to the Dwarven District.
As soon as you get out of the dwarven portal, take the long path, not the short path, to the other main road.
Take a right down that road.
The Olivine will be on your left.
If the redstone torch out front is on, the the Pub is open.
If off, then the Pub is closed!

I can confirm that non-patrons get the 20 gold nuggets as well, as I got them when I logged on.

Co-ords are -330, 933. Basically, next to the lake, and a root of the Great Oak Tree. Opposite side from the exit of the tree, mind you.

Ooh look I'm the first in Southshire! :)

I have no idea about coords at the moment but I'm just outside Market Square, in the second circle of plots around Market Square, the one with the really tall dark wood plank roof and a flower garden beneath a balcony. My boyfriend and I co-own the plot, although he did the building and the designing. Username is the same as here.
