Our favorite Canadian trio is trying to beet the hot summer sun and Etho wants to have a water gun fight. (Owl is suddenly very bad at writing descriptions)

Pause, Etho, and Beef were sitting inside Pause's house, trying as best as they could to escape the burning mid-day sun.

"I swear it's hotter in here then it is outside!" Beef groaned loudly, try to fan himself off with his hand.

Pause, who had gotten up off the couch the three of them were sitting on, rolled his eyes and grumbled, "It was you two who wanted to come over here."

Etho sighed and followed Pause into the kitchen to grab more ice for his drink. "We could have a water battle, you have squirt guns, don't you Pause?"

Pause was currently standing by the freezer with the door open and the cold air pouring out onto his face. Etho was tempted to close the door on his friends head, but he resisted. Instead, he rapped his knuckles on the back of Pause's head to make sure he was listening.

"Ow guy! Yeah, I have water guns, but none of us have swim trunks and I'm sure no one likes getting their clothes wet."

After hearing this, Etho made a pouty face and looked down at his glass of room-temperature water, before dumping the contents all over Pause. Pause stood there for a second, sputtering water from his mouth, before remembering how to speak again.

"ETHO!!!"

At this point, Etho had stepped out of range of retaliation, a grin stretching across his face. Beef, feeling left out sitting all by himself on the couch, had just walked into the kitchen to find Pause with a handful of ice cubes ready to chuck at Etho.

Beef sighed, "I can't leave you two alone without any fighting, can I?"

"Oh, here comes Momma Beef. Careful Pause, he might but you in a time-out." Etho teased, much to Beef's annoyance.

This phrase, however, was Pause's breaking point and he chucked the handful of melting ice cubes at Etho, who ducked and missed being hit by all of them.

"God dammit," Pause swore, "I hate you Etho."

"Hey now," Etho said, straitening up and ginning even wider at his friend, "those sound like fighting words, boy."

Pause's eyes narrowed, "Fine, I'll grab the water guns, meet you two outside."

"Do I not get a say in any of this?" Beef asked, watching Pause storm off to find his water guns.

"Nope." Etho said, "Common, let's go out back."

"Ok, we each have an equal amount of water in our guns, whoever gets the wettest is disqualified and the remaining two have to battle in the same style." Pause finished explaining the rules to his grinning friends. "Ready?"

"Yep!"

"Mhmm."

"Setgo!"

"Hey, I thought we were going to do a countdown!" Beef said, trying to duck away from being squirted by Pause.

"Nope, gotta be ready Beef." Pause said, running and ducking behind a nearby tree to avoid Beef. Little did he know that Etho was aiming right at him."

"Oh hey Etho." Beef said, spotting said ninja and proceeded to spray him down with water.

Etho quickly changed his target and aimed for Beef, dousing him as best as he could, "Not so fast, guy."

"Hey, don't leave me out of the fun!" Pause yelled and aimed for Beef as well.

"No fair, you can't double team!" Beef quickly ran away, looking for an object to duck behind. Etho jumped up and ran after him, using the last bit of his water to douse him.

"Uh-oh, out of water." Etho realized he probably shouldn't have said that out loud because Beef got a very crazy look in his eyes as he raised his water gun.

"NYAH!" Pause had run up to Beef and Etho and was going at it Rambo style with (water) guns blazin'. He ran out of water without really hitting anyone too bad, but it was funny to watch. Beef had now turned his gun towards Pause and sprayed the last bit of his water in Pause's face.

"Hey breh, not cool!" Pause said, wiping the water from his face, before all three of them burst out laughing.

"I think we all lost that one," Etho said, glancing at his two friends, "we're all soaked."

"Yeah, but at least we're all cooled off now." Beef contently sighed, tossing his gun aside and sitting down on the shaded grass. The two others followed suit.

"And you were worried about us not wanting to get our clothes wet," Etho said, glancing over in Pause's direction.

Pause held up his hands in defense, "Hey, don't hate."

Etho laughed again an laid down to look up at the clouds through the tree leaves, "That one looks like a turtle."

"What?" Beef and Pause said in sync, staring at Etho like he was crazy.

"I don't wanna do anything else but lay here and look at the clouds," Etho said, propping himself onto his elbows, "so please join me."

Beef and Pause looked at each other before shrugging and lying down on either side of Etho and looking up to the sky.

"You're really weird Etho, you know that right?" Pause said, giving his friend a side-ways glance.

Etho just smiled, glad he had his two friends by his side.

"Hey, that on there looks like a piece of steak!" Beef pointed up at one of the clouds and they all began to laugh again.

Summer can be annoying, but it also could be so simple, and that's why these three friends loved it.
