mindcrackloveMore gyms and catching! Sorry for the delay, I kind of got swept up in assessments (which I should really be doing right now but I need a break before I go nuts) but onwards, hopefully to victory!

Funny, remember how I said there was only one place to catch pokemon after Driftveil? I was wrong apparently.
I wandered up to Chargestone Cave fully expecting it to be blocked off like in the first game but lo and behold it was open! Crossing my fingers and hoping like mad, I dove inside and made the catch...
Guilty, Female Joltik! Bg/Electric, Lvl 26, Mild nature, capable of taking hits. Unnerve ability, prevents foes from using berries. Named for our own GuiltyShirts, who has the habit of making me squeal with delight with those sweet fics, since the Joltik makes me squeal with its cuteness.
Back down the route a bit, inside a super secret science lab experimenting on Deerling, I am surprised by the scientists giving me a Deerling of my very own! What's with all the grass types game? Geeze, it's like you don't want me to use MC :(
BDubs, Male Deerling! Grass/Normal, Lvl 30, Docile nature, somewhat stubborn. Serene Grace ability, boosts the likihood of added effects appearing. Great, but I already have MC so...
Back in Driftveil town, after wandering the houses and stealing from the rich, someone offers me another pokemon, to my surprise.
Zorua, Dark, Lvl 25. Hasty nature, proud of its power. Illusion ability, this pokemon disguises itself as the pokemon at the back of the party when switched into battle. Apparently this pokemon belongs to someone else and it won't let me nickname it :(
After these surprises, I decide its time to start training. And training. And more training. In fact, I spent time doing extra training, getting several non party members up to lvl 35 along with the team. Naturally, we had some evolutions along the way, so lets showcase these guys!
Starlett evolved into Swanna!
Pause evolved into Unfezant!
Kurt evolved into Stoutland!
Etho evolved into Gothorita!
Sixelona evolved into Cinccino! (Shiny stone get!)
Zorua evolved into Zoroark!
Now, with everyone not taking part in this gym fight in the TEAM box, I've selected the party members so lets do this!
Starlett: Lvl 35. Air Slash, Aerial Ace, Bubblebeam, Fly. Item: Mystic water, boosts water moves. What I wouldn't give for Surf right now.
MC: Lvl 35. Giga Drain, Solar Beam, Razor Leaf, Petal Dance. Item: Miracle seed boosts grass.
Pause: Lvl 35. Quick Attack, Air Cutter, Air Slash, Fly. Item: Quick claw: lets user move first, sometimes.
Etho: Lvl 35. Future Sight, Psyshock, Psybeam, Faint Attack. Item: twisted spoon boosts psychic.
Zisteau: Lvl 35. Take Down, Flame Charge, Rock Smash, Fire Punch. Item: Charcoal boosts fire. he's only going to come into it if somehow everyone else is dead or dying. He's mostly here for luck.
Kurt: Lvl 35. Crunch, Work Up, Strength, Take Down. Item: Amule Coin for extra cash. Also here for luck.
I have no idea if we're ready or not but lets do this! Ground Gym HOOOOOOO!
First battle and the trainer sends out a Baltoy at lvl 31. Out comes Starlett who uses bubblebeam and we win! Easy!
Second battle, Drilbur. Starlett's bubblebeam again takes care of it as well as the next Baltoy and Sandile. Win!
Third fight - my god this gym is enormous - Sandile. It faints at the sight of the deadly bubbles. The Drilbur is hit with a crit bubble and gives up the ghost. Win!
Fourth battle. By this point I think word of the deadly bubbles of doom has begun to spread and the Drilbur before us is quaking in its claws. It faints the moment Starlett begins to blow bubbles. The Baltoy never stood a chance. Win!
Fifth battle. Have you heard of the white sea bird from above the ground? They say she blows -shudder- bubbles... The Sandile faints almost as soon as Starlett appears. And then she levels up. Win!
(Yes I know Swans are freshwater birds but hush, rule of drama)
Sixth battle. The bird that shines like the sun, that smells of the sea...she comes to end it, to end us all... The Drilbur shudders and drops and Starlett just preens her feathers in smug victory. Win!
Seventh. The Baltoy predicts what is to come and tries to brave against the gentle flow of bubbles against its skin but to no avail. It falls, as does its companion Sandile. Win!
Okay, thats enough melodrama, lets find Clay and kick his butt.
Out comes Krokorok. Avidya would have been an excellent Korkorok...A crit bubblebeam takes it out. Excadrill is next, and my god if that red stuff doesn't look like blood. Bubblebeam to yellow health, it uses a Sitrus berry to boost it a little then hits us with an attack that I missed which took Starlett down to red. Damn. Its risky but Starlett uses another bubblebeam to take it out before she's hit again and levels up in the process. With Starlett badly hurt and a Sandslash coming, we switch to MC. It uses Crush Claw to bring down a little halth but MC isn't that defenseless these days and he hits back with a Giga drain to take it out and win the gym battle for us!
Thero receieved the Quake Badge from Clay!
And TM Bulldoze.
Bah, and now Clay wants us to go participate in a Pokemon World Tournament. This sounds bad...
I enter Zisteau, MC and Starlett, because the three base types of Fire, Water and Grass should hopefully do.
Oh hey, we're fighting Kururururr first! Oh good god its in front of a giant crowd. He sends out his Dewott lvl 25, and poor Zisteau is up first. There's a ten level discrepancy but still, water v fire...Two take downs and its out. Out comes a Tranquil and I switch Z out for Starlett. Air Slash takes it out and in comes a Simisage. Another Air Slash beats it. Win!
Now we face off against a familiar foe: Cheren! Out comes a Stoutland to face Zisteau. Rock smash takes it to half health and white it booss its stats, we take it out with another rock smash. Cinccino is next, and while Zisteau takes it out with a single rock smash, there are fire works going on outside my window. I think they just lit the christmas tree lights and wow is it loud. Watchog is next and rock smash brings it to a sliver of health. Fire punch takes it out. We win!
And now we face off against someone who looks like he's plot important, he's got special hair so I can tell. Colress! He sends out Magneton which Zisteau punches with fire and it barely survives thanks to Sturdy. It uses thunderwave to paralyze but another fire punch kills it. Out comes Elgyem and I switch Z out because he's weak to psychic. Out comes Starlett and she flies into the air and takes it out. Out comes Klink. Starlett uses Bubblebeam and takes it out. Win!
And for all that hassle, I only get 1 battle point : / Aw well.
...And then Kurrururur leads us into a right old Plasma mess. Damnit Kuurur. Well, free level grinding, right? Kurt slaughters them all, mwahahaha! And then we team up with Cheren and its double Stoutland time! Then Teaming up with Kururu to beat more plasma goons.
Afterwards, we get kicked out and I go find someone who can help me better Kurt's move pool...Kurt forgot Take Down and remembered Ice Fang! Excellent, that'll do for now. Cheren gives us the Surf HM further on, yay! To Starlett it goes.
And then out of nowhere this giant blue dog thing roars at me. What the hell? Apparently it was Cobalion... that is very odd looking. I'll take Suicine thanks. Then by mere accident, I wander into Mistaltron Cave. Catch time! Naturally I walk right into a trainer first. One fight later..
Congratulations! Your Zisteau evolved into Emboar!
Woo!
Now for the catch...
Pyro, Male Axew, lvl 29! Dragon. Calm nature, likes to thrash about. Mold breake ability, meaning abilities don't affect this pokemon's moves.
Holy cow. I was sure I wasn't going to get a chance at one of these guys until Dragonspiral tower or something but lo and behold, the perfect Pyro :D I wanted one of these and now yay! I think on this high note, we can end this episode here :D This is getting kind of long so I'll say adieu until next time!
