BDoubleO

Somehow he gets Guude outside.
He didn't know why the other was so willing this time. But when BDoubleO walked into the office in one of those amazingly gross winter sweaters Guude isn't so fond of he was ready to attach a rope to the chair Guude sat on and pull him into the outdoors.
But he didn't have to.
Guude simply put down his pen and stood to join him.
It's a annual thing. The walk they take through the campus when it snows. Maybe he had been looking forwards to it. Last year it had been an effort to get Guude out there and ended with BDoubleO yelling,
"If you don't want to be here then /leave./" Which started one of the biggest fights they'd ever had.
Which was more of a not fight. More of them just avoiding one another. It was terrible because when there was a group meeting their chairs were next to one another from bring previously chosen. In the end everyone shoved them into the laundry room and wouldn't let them out until they agreed to stop fighting.
But now they were standing out in the cold, their shoes crunching the newly fallen snow beneath them.
It was the kind of cold that managed to seep through his clothing. No matter how many layers he put on it seemed like there was no boundaries. It sank right through straight to his bones, making him shiver and his teeth chatter.
He didn't even have to say anything for Guude to shrug on his coat and follow him outside. The walked in silence for a long time. It's a comfortable silence though. Just how comfortable they are with walking at a very close distance to one another. As if they didn't have the whole outside to themselves. Their shoulders and hands brushed against each other's as they continued forwards.
It's Guude who broke the silence.
"It's so fucking cold, man." BDoubleO can't help the bubble of laughter than emerged from his mouth.
"I know. It's just that time of year."
"Yeah, the time of year for you and your terrible sense of fashion to make its way to the world. Seriously, where in the hell do you get those things?" Guude pointed to where BDoubleO hadn't buttoned his coat and the sweater was still visible. He shrugged.
"Oh you know...around." Guude rolled his eyes and BDoubleO let out more laughter. He can see his breath, so he breathed out more and watched as it disappeared. He repeated a few more times until Guude shoved him slightly. It caught him off guard so he fell face first into the snow. He made a sound that was cut off as he landed face first on the ground. Luckily it was grass beneath and not the concrete of the sidewalk. Guude's laughter is the first thing he heard besides his own groan. He stood, balancing himself, then turned to face Guude who was still getting over his laughing fit.
"You're an asshole," BDoubleO said, brushing the snow off from his pants and jacket. The snow already making him wet and colder then before. He goes to run his sleeve of his face because he could feel the coldness there.
"Wait!" Guude said, reaching out to stop his arm, BDoubleO looks at him with a curious expression.
"What?"
"You...you look like you're from a Christmas Card." Guude said, his eyes moving back and forth somewhere on BDoubleO's face, just staring at him. BDubs raised an eyebrow.
"What are you talking about?" They stare at each other for a while longer until Guude seemed to snap out of whatever the /hell/ that was.
"We should build a snowman," Guude said, turning away and motioning to the big clearing with untouched snow just waiting.
The snow man ended up being the derpiest snowman BDoubleO has even seen. Its eyes were made of rocks and the second mound of snow, the torso?, was lopsided. But he had managed to keep Guude from making it inappropriate.
So no boobs.
But he had started shivering more violently and watched as Guude tried to not break it by sticking in the branches for arms. He had forgotten his gloves so when he looked down at his hands they were numb and stiff and red.
He tried to rub them together, but they were both to cold and numb. He pulled his sleeves down, hoping that would help. It did nothing.
Guude walked back to stand beside him and they both looked at their creation. It might have looked weird, but he was pretty proud of it. It was standing, nonetheless.
"Come on, let's go inside. I have coffee." Guude said, turning to head back to his office. BDoubleO looks a the snowman for a second longer before following.
They make it back, taking off their coats and letting the heat of the inside chase away the frost.
He stared down at his hands, still numb and red. Not even the heat make it better. He tried putting them under his arms, but he still couldn't feel them.
"What're you doin', guy?" Guude asked when he returned from putting coffee in the machine down. BDoubleO raised his hands for him to see.
"I'm going to get frost bite and never write anything again." He said, Guude sitting down in the uncomfortable chair next to him.
"Where are your gloves?" Guude asked. BDoubleO makes a face.
"Probably lost in my sock drawer. A ball off smallness can only mean socks when I'm doing laundry."
"You fucking idiot. I still have your gloves and you can't put on a pair!"
"You didn't notice!"
"Gimme your god damn hands."
"Why?" Guude didn't answer, snatching his hand and starting to rub it between his. The friction causing some feeling to spark in his hand. It hurt, but it felt good to know it wasn't going to turn purple and fall off. He let out a soft sigh.
Guude worked one finger at a time until BDoubleO could bend and unbend them without wincing or putting in effort.
BDoubleO looked up at Guude's face. It was closer than he had expected, but his eyes were cast downwards to their hands. His brow furrowed in concentration on what he was doing.
He kept rubbing the feeling back into his hand until he threw it away and picked up the next one. The same process. Just as much pain and warmth as the last one.
When Guude was done he looked back up to BDoubleO.
"Thanks," he said, his voice rougher than expected. He tried clearing his throat. Guude stood, getting distance between them.
"I'll go see if the coffee's ready," Guude said before leaving the room. BDoubleO stared down at his hands, unsure of what the tightness in his chest was. But when Guude came back, holding a mug out to him, his tie loosened and a smile on his face it felt like he's had the air knocked out of him. As if someone had punched him right in the stomach. He couldn't breath for a minute.
He stared as Guude sat in his chair and sipped at the mug he was holding. A fluttering filled his chest, the knot that seemed to have been caught there loosening. He blinked. Sucking down air and leaned back in his chair BDoubleO set his mug on Guude's desk.
Before Guude could question him BDouble gave some half-ass reply and bolted.
He didn't stop moving until the door to his classroom was firmly shut and locked behind him. Sliding down until he reached the floor.
The constriction from within his chest lets him know his fears are true and he didn't really know how he couldn't have noticed up until now.

"It is to damn cold for this." BDoubleO told Beef and Generik as they crouched behind a four foot tall brick wall that stretched downwards for a couple of meters.
"That's kind of the point, it gets cold, rain turns into snow." Generik grinned as BDoubleO glared. "Most of the time."
"Guys, we don't need anyone else gone. BTC already got hit, and I don't want you two derping this up." Beef whispered, peeking around the corner.
"You and Pause have something of a bet?" Generik questioned, still making snow balls, packing them in between his hands.
"I have to dress as Santa on the last day before break if I get out before him. And he has to do all the cleaning if I win." Beef said, keeping his gaze outwards to find movement.
"I think I rather see you in a Santa Costume, to be honest."
"Shut up."
"Guys, over there!" BDoubleO whispered, the other two immediately snapping into focus.
"Can you tell who it is?" Generik asked, handing a couple snowballs to him. BDoubleO squinted, watching the forms move across the open patch of land in front of them.
"I think it's Doc. Who's on his team?"
"Uh...Zisteau? Right?"
"I know, hold...on," Beef rolled up his glove to reveal a piece of paper. "Doc, Adlington, Zedsteau, and JSano."
"There's only three that I can see," BDoubleO said, watching as they seemed to stop in the middle of the open area.
"Maybe one of them got out?"
"Either way, we can stay here or go after them. Three on three, I say we have a pretty good shot of taking them down." Generik said, gathering as many snowball as he could into his arms. "You two can throw and I'll hold the supply and make more. Just cover me if they counter attack. Okay?" They nodded and set off.
It had been relatively easy, to Beef's surprise. The other Team was trying to gather more snow when they attacked, taking all three of them out.
"Agh, good game." Doc said, patting the snow off his gloves.
"You, too." Generik grinned, taking JSano's thermos of hot coffee.
"What happened to Zedsteau?" Beef asked, before the three started to head for the library were the out players would wait in warmth.
"He got lost," Adlington said with a shrug. "One minute we were on Guude's tail and the next he wasn't in front of us anymore."
"Wait, /Guude's/ out here?"
"Yeah, didn't you know? He came to make it even when Pak had to drop out." Doc wrapped his arms around himself as he shivered.
"No. Holy hell, what team is he on?"
"Uh...Kurt was on his team. I know that much. Good luck you guys!"
"See you," Beef said, giving a wave as they left.
"Why didn't we know Guude was out here?" Generik asked, taking a drink from the thermos.
"No idea, but if Kurt's on his team that means it's Kurt, Guude, Anderz, and Paul." Beef said, his list under his glove still.
"We'll have to figure it out later. We gotta get to somewhere safe and get ready. We can't stay out here in the open otherwise we'll end up like Doc and them. Come on." And they did, they hid under the bridge where the small river, which might have been called something like a stream or a brook but he didn't care enough to ever ask, that ran through the park had frozen over. The snow had lasted a week giving the temperature enough time to let the top of the water turn into a solid. The group having to reschedule in order to get as many of them out there as they wanted otherwise this battle would have taken place a lot earlier. They didn't test standing on the frozen water, knowing it was dangerous and stupid.
Deciding they needed more snow, Beef and Generik went out to collect a supply while BDoubleO stayed behind and worked on making what little snow they had around them into something useful.
"This is ridiculous." Beef said after getting back from collecting snow. "How can it /still/ be snowing?"
"That is Mother Nature for you." BDoubleO grumbled as he started packing the snow into ammo. Generik came back a short while after, huffing and with no snow.
"I just saw Guude and Kurt! Zisteau was still in the game, apparently and managed to take out Paul and Anderz. It was a /great/ battle, but they're retreating and-" But Beef had already gotten what he was getting at and was gathering snowballs.
"Let's get 'em while their down."
They managed to find Zisteau, who was exactly where Generik last saw him, hidden in a tree. Without much snow to form something up in the branches from his reach he was a sitting duck.
They helped him down, because they were nice guys, and he seemed happy enough to be heading towards a warmed building.
"Where'd you say Kurt and Guude were?" Beef asked Generik when they started making their way back to the bridge. But he didn't get the chance to answer, a snowball whizzing past their heads sending a jolt through them. They took off, all in different directions, all thinking the other two were following the one.
BDoubleO towards the bridge, Generik back to where they'd come from, and Beef who knows where.
By the looks of things they went after BDoubleO because he was getting snowballs thrown at him left and right. It took him a moment to realize he was alone while another team was on him and all he could think was at least Beef and Generik could still make it through.
It was distracting, trying to dodge the trees in front of him, then the snowballs coming from behind him he didn't realize he was off by a couple meters and ended up not running across the bridge but stopping on the bank of the river, brook, thing. He didn't give it a second thought when another snowball flew by. He should have, he should have held his hands up in surrender, said good game, and went to talk about the battle with the rest of the guys in a warm library. Instead he was taken over by adrenalin and ran.
Right over the frozen river. That is until there was a stomach twisting cracking and down under the ice he went.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS.
I'm still laughing at BDubs' attempt at winter jokes when they were testing out the snowman slpeaf game Generik built?
Idiots. All of them.
Have a nice day. C:
