Fanfic - Pursuing Part 2
Thursday, December 12th, 2013 02:47 pmEhhhm? Hm.
Etho didn't get any sleep for the next week. He knew he should, but the moment he closed his eyes, he felt Nebris pressing against him again, the warmth, alcohol on his breathe...
Exhaling slowly, he put a handy out to steady himself before withdrawing it with a yelp as he accidentally touched one of the redstone panels on the wall, burning himself slightly. Looking at the blisters starting to form, he hissed, pouring a potion on it. He had to get sleep soon, or he might kill himself accidentally. He could make some potions to keep him awake, but he knew that slippery slope all too well, and didn't want to make this situation even worse.
Stumbling home, he crashed onto the couch in a heap of limbs, trying not to think about what had happened on the couch just a week ago. He pulled himself up, wrapping his arms around his legs, resting his head against his knees as he tried to think of something else, anything else to fixate on.
A knock at the door made him jerk up and fall off the couch with a crash. Groaning, he stood up, looking out the window. Doc was standing outside. Hissing, he opened the door.
“Hi Doc, I'm sort of busy, what do you need?” he said curtly, trying to keep the door shut so Doc couldn't see how he was shaking from lack of sleep or food.
Doc tilted his head slightly, pushing on the door. “Let me in, Etho. We need to ah, talk,” he said quietly, but authoritarian. Etho blinked slowly. Somewhere in the back of his brain, he knew he could just tell Doc no, and that Doc would likely listen to that but...Doc seemed worried about him. Shoulders slumping in defeat, Etho opened the door, letting Doc inside. The two of them sat down on the couch, seat empty between them. Etho curled back up, head on his knees, not caring what Doc thought.
“What happened?” Doc asked bluntly.
“I'm going to guess the answer of nothing is not going to appease you,” Etho said with a soft sigh. Doc shook his head, waiting for Etho to answer.
“I just need to get some sleep is all,” Etho said after a pause, trying to think of a better lie and failing horribly. Doc tilted his head, clearly not buying it.
“I am to believe tzat Nebris being surly in spawn and hearing him say you were throwing tings is unrelated? We know how much you vant him, so...what happened?” Doc said, arms folded on his chest. Etho exhaled slowly. He knew his crush was a well known secret, but most people were polite enough to not say it to his face. If it was so bad that Doc was being blunt, well fine.
“He came over, we got drunk, he made out with me, I stopped it from going further because I'm not that much of an asshole to take advantage of him while he's drunk, he doesn't remember any of it, and every time I close my eyes, I feel him again, so I'm sort of going insane,” Etho said, curling further into himself. He heard Doc exhale slowly, rubbing his face.
“Ah. That's...that's something,” Doc said after a pause, causing Etho to groan. “You need to sleep. I know how much you vant him, but you need...you need to let it go. If he wants to rec...reciprocate, then he knows vhere you are,” Doc said as he placed a gentle hand on Etho's shoulder.
Etho scooted over, leaning against Doc. “Stay here until I fall asleep?” he said quietly, feeling drained and empty. Doc nodded, pulling Etho closer, arms wrapped around him protectively. Doc wanted nothing more then to go and admonish Nebris, but he didn't know what he had done. He wanted Etho to be happy, and this was just tearing him apart and was no good. He wasn't sure what else to do then just be there for Etho.
