Author's Note: This is my first time writing Mindcrack Fic. I AM SO SORRY MINDCRACKERS. SO SORRY. This is inspired by a conversation from Nebris's Stream on Nov. 30, 2013. The idea came from a conversation about baby Vechs and his infamous giggle snorts and me watching his 52nd Episode and him being semi-tipsy and being all adorbs. >.< The idea is if Rosie was "stolen" or Nebrised by Beef, how would Zisteau and Vechs react. Jealousy ensues. This is my first time, the nervousness got to me and it just turned out to be a fic about a meetup at PAX East and mostly friendly bickering. XDDDD
"I will save you!" Vechs screamed as he jumped out of his bed, apparently his dreams of saving Rosie from evil towers in League of Legends have become rather disturbing. On the side of his computer was the stuffed animal bat that was made from her fanart.
He knew that those dreams are just a manifestation of his daily activities and he started wondering if he had been playing League of Legends a bit too much lately and should actually scale back, but Zisteau would have agreed that there's no doing until you overdo it. And Vechs knew that just as well.
It was the morning of pax east 2014 and he was going to meet up with Zisteau and everyone else of the Mindcrack Sever for the first time. It was the fateful meeting that he had been waiting for all this time. More important than that, it was also his first time being able to meet his fans face-to-face.
When he arrived at the convention main halls, most of the mindcrackers were all already busy with long lines, standing there swarmed by their fans asking for autographs. It was indeed extremely surreal to see how they were treated despite being just some Youtube Let's Players. The fanbase was as crazy as any other fanbase of celebrities. No one has yet recognized him, until Zisteau peeked up from his line of fans and said "It's the Evil Mapmaker Vechs!"
A long line of fans swarmed up to him before he could protest against Zisteaus' obvious ploy.
Not that he minded the line of fans, but he had to get his "revenge" on Zisteau.
The autographing didn't last very long before Guude came over to usher both him and Zisteau towards the back where they were holding another mindcrack party due to the success and popularity of the previous one.
In the ballroom, he saw the many statues of their likeliness standing against the walls. When the doors would open again, he knew that the fans would come flooding in. Thankfully, since this was a party that had an earlier sign-up, there was going to be less people and they could get to talk to the individual fans more.
There was about a good 10 minutes left before they would start opening the doors, so Vechs sat next to VintageBeef to talk about his experience with CTM maps and about how he thought it was interesting the way Team Canada had approached many of the CTM maps, they talked about what makes for good LP content and what makes for interesting play-throughs. VintageBeef pointed out that despite the excitement of the difficulty of some of the more difficult maps, they were also too time-consuming and would make for bad Let's Plays. Many Let's Players require a series that they could upload twice or thrice a week and maps like those would be more difficult as they required time off-camera to gather materials. They couldn't as easily take the approach Zisteau normally does because the audience watching Team Canada, like OOG or OOGE enjoy the sporadic moments and the chemistry that comes from those moments. Whereas with Zisteau, it would be easier as he often play these maps alone and to help ease the pain of watching him farm all the materials or break all the spawners slowly, Zisteau would often make ridiculous montages and that has somewhat become his "signature".
When the doors opened, like Zisteau had told him about the last time, fans still came swarming in. One of them was Axl_Rosie, before Vechs could go up to greet her, Zisteau greeted her first and turned to Vechs and said "Suck it evil mapmaker, last year I could only tweet this to you and this year I could say it to you in person. Just kidding, go say hi Rosie."
Walking up to Vechs, Rosie was shaking to finally meet Vechs. She was shaking like a leaf and asked VintageBeef in Portuguese to help her take a picture for her with Vechs. As they did and conversed in Portuguese, Vechs felt somewhat left out of the conversation. Rosie turned to Vechs telling him that when she gets as nervous as this, her English speaking capabilities fail completely and she reverts to speaking in Portuguese and is glad how there is someone who could kind of understand here in the Mindcrack Party.
"Awww Rosie" said Vechs, but inside, he couldn't help feel somewhat jealous of VintageBeef's ability to make her feel more calm in a situation like this. Not that he blames Beef, if it were up to him in her shoes, he imagined it to be just like that. He wouldn't been able to function as well.
Next to them, Zisteau jokingly said to Beef "But I found her first! I will help"
"Oh pigderp" said Vechs "you don't have to at all."
VintageBeef realizing the situation said: "Vechs, Zisteau, do you know if this gets on the internets, the subreddit will go wild with their fanfiction?"
Giggling wildly Rosie said "I promise to not upload or condone or write one myself."
Feeling her relaxing, Vechs relaxed a little, and so did Zisteau. Yet her English abilities have still not returned, so she shyly asked VintageBeef in Portuguese to translate for her if need be.
After she had left, Vechs looked at VintageBeef and said "You know I am going to learn Portuguese one day and be good at it. You know that."
And Zisteau said "Oh no you don't, you're not outdoing me map maker!"
Before the three of them laughed at the thought and the idea itself. Following VintageBeef, Vechs went to sit next to Rosie whilst Zisteau went back to mind his own line of fans.
