Fic: Together
Tuesday, August 13th, 2013 08:27 pmI’m in a fluffy mood so weeee enjoy. The gender of one of the characters in this story is meant to be vague. So have have fun imagining who is who in this thing.
The sun is setting when they decide to head home, saying bye to the friends still mingling at the bar. The road is empty besides the two of them, sharing in the companionship of each other and the changing above them. The air grows chilly, but it is alright as long as their hand is held in his.
They chuckle as the both of them reach a part of the road that has a small two block wall built beside it, and with his help they step onto it, balancing with the help of his hand.
“Better be careful,” his voice is soft as if afraid of breaking the strange feeling that surrounds them, but it only serves to bring butterflies to their stomach, the sound of love intertwining with the words.
“It is alright, I have you.” they coolly reply, although the hint of a blush can be seen in the dimming light.
“Always,” they reach the end of the wall, and step down with the help of a strong, but gentle grip, “But promise me that when I am not there.”
They chuckle, and in the moment they lean in and a press a smile to the other’s cheek, “I’ll try, and you should do the same.”
“I’ll try,” he chuckles as the both of them continue on their way, hands still connected swinging gently between their walking bodies.
The sun soon disappears as they almost reach their home, the light of the stars and moon are now their guides. The sound of the night filters around them, calming like a lullaby.
“I love you.” it is a quiet confession, and it is unsure who says it first. In the silence, they stop walking as the other smiles gently, there is a gentle squeeze and a similar confession.
“I love you too.”
