Previously on Isi's Mindcrack Mod Adventures:

Yeesss, delicious progress.

It's time. I am sick of always getting lost and confused in this stupid swamp. I am finally making some goddamn navigational tools and conquering this awful place. For someone who learned to play the game without the luxury of F3, things like maps and compasses are less like often overlooked features of the game and more like godsends. I'm also bringing beds this time, because screw nighttime. Here I am at the island where I kept some people while I was off trying to be not lost. I thought it'd be a good starting point for my map, since I'll continue using it as a holding checkpoint if I find more people but don't want to take them all the way home yet.
But first thing's first. Point me to the way out, oh compass of salvation!

All right, the village is southeast of my chosen center. Good to know. My spawn point is not captured in the map, but it continues roughly south east off the map.

Repeat visits to the swamp reveal that a number of Nebrises inhabit the place beyond the one I found here. This fact combined with the swamp's tendency to easily confuse and misdirect me lead me to name this place the Cheaty Swamp.

I start filling out the map, and already my exploration is paying off! I wasn't even intending to find someone new. I just wanted to map the place so I knew where I was going. But this is cool too; we have located the elusive architect Arkas. I don't want to take him all the way back, but I drop him off at the edge of the desert.

Well lookie here.

I finally found the water fort where I held the first Just Defy. Turns out, having two of him at this point, I don't need this one anymore, but I dismantle the walls and let him out.

Be free, buddy!
Continuing through the forest biome, I spot my second Kurt!

I suspect the mod version of Kurt is infused with the spirit of Wolfie, because in true Wolfie fashion, he managed to hurt himself coming down this tiny hill.

And I drop him off at the center-of-the-map island for now. Also, I finally figured out that digging a pit and luring the guys into them is infinitely easier than trying to construct a wall around them when you're unable to build and hold wheat at the same time, which is what I had been doing.
Continuing on...

I CAN EXPLAIN THIS.
There I was, romping through the forest, filling out my map, and now that I'm carrying a bed to skip the night, I haven't a care in the world. I had spotted someone on a hill, but it turned out to be another Just Defy. Okay. I approach him anyway, say hi, whatever. But with Mindcrackers in the vicinity, I am less alert to the sound of footsteps without any other accompanying sound.
Cue creeper to the face.
I flee down the hill to a small lake to recover my wits and my health. I am pursued by yet another creeper. He also blows up, but in the water. I decide this is a terrible place to be and think it best to just get out of here. But there was that Just Defy right next to me when that creeper blew. Risking further damage, I had to go look. And there were those two stone picks that they drop.

I felt like I needed to do something. This is the first time a Mindcracker died in my world. So I "buried" him where he died.

Fortunately there seemed to be no shortage of JDs in this forest. They were everywhere, in greater numbers than the Cheaty Swamp Nebrises. It seemed fitting JD would be denizens of the forest, considering his lumberjack skin. With the double creeper incident, I decide to name this place the Forest of Injustice.
Next time: There's still a lot of map to fill out. What (or who) remains to be discovered?
On a side note, I was playing last night, and oh my god at the things that happened. I can't wait to get to that episode, but I also feel like I can't talk about it, because then it'd be spoiling. This must be what the guys feel like after UHC before all the videos are up, gah.
