Very short.
Yet another day, yet another thing to build, or more succinctly, to steal and improve upon. He had already completed the first part, and so here he was in his workshop, tinkering with one of the cast off items Arkas hadn't properly locked up from his prying hands.
He was unsurprised to hear the sound of a jetpack behind him, assuming Arkas had figured out he had stolen approximately half his base at this point.
“If you can find where I keep my cash, you can take whatever you want for the stuff I borrowed,” Nebris said, continuing to work on the weapon in front of him.
“What if I'm not here for your cash?”
Every hair on Nebris stood on end, his eyes going wide as his heart started pounding faster. He slowly turned around, breath catching in the back of his throat as he saw someone he hadn't seen for quite some time.
“What...what are you doing here?” he said, voice barely above a whisper, ragged.
Etho frowned at him, removing the goggles he was wearing as he dropped down, discarding the jetpack he was wearing before crossing his arms, staring at Nebris quietly.
“You didn't think I'd just forget about you, did you?” Etho said, mouth quirking slightly as he suppressed an amused grin.
“You left,” Nebris said, willing his heart to stop going nuts. His mouth was dry, and he already could feel his hands clenching into fists, something he was sure Etho noticed as well.
“I came back.”
“I'm with someone else,” Nebris said, frowning. Not quite true, since he wasn't sure exactly what his and Arkas' relationship was, but it might keep Etho away.
“We both know that doesn't matter here, don't we,” Etho said, grinning as he took a step forward.
Nebris squeezed his eyes shut, waiting for the inevitable pain to come before he opened his eyes after a few seconds of silence. He frowned as he saw no sign of Etho around at all. No jetpack, no goggles, no Etho. Frowning, he shoved the weapon he had been working on away, deciding that maybe he had been awake too long, needing a nap. He could almost hear Etho chuckling at him as he left.
