OOG OTP Challenge Day 18: Doing Something Together

But yeah, I got the idea from the game Robot Roller-Derby Disco Dodgeball, except in this case, minus the robots. Hope y'all enjoy the games!
“Guude, duck!” BdoubleO shouted from the sidelines of the basketball court as he saw one of their opponents aiming with a dull red ball from the opposite end of the court. Guude’s head whipped around and he dropped to the floor, barely avoiding the dodgeball that had been thrown at him.
“Thanks, Bdubs!” he called out as he got up quickly and sped after the ball that had been thrown. BdoubleO had already been hit by the opposition this game, and as a result, he was sitting out on the sidelines, watching the flashing lights and his teammates skating around, maneuvering around the shots thrown from the other side.
They were playing the 3rd tiebreaker round of Roller-Derby Disco Dodgeball with their friends, and Guude was still going strong, getting out person after person on the opponent’s team. He skated skillfully around the obstacles and under, over, and around the dodgeballs threatening to hit him.
Guude rolled up to the ball that had been thrown at him and scooped it up in his right arm without ever slowing down, Guude then turned around quickly and lobbed the ball at one of the opponents, the ball slamming him in this face and falling onto the ground.
“Woo, nice job Guude!” BdoubleO cheered from the sidelines, there was now only one person left from both of the teams, and Guude had a ball, putting him in good position. Guude spotted the last opposing player, and chucked the ball at him, however he missed by just an inch. The opponent picked up the ball and aimed it right at Guude’s chest.
“Guude look out!” BdoubleO called from the sidelines, despite Guude already knowing what was happening. The opponent threw the ball at Guude, and it was going far too fast for Guude to dodge, so he had to catch. Guude held his hands out and the ball slammed into his chest, causing him to trip backwards, falling onto his back.
A round of “ooh’s” came from the eliminated players on the sidelines. Guude then sat back up, holding up the ball in his right hand, signifying that he had indeed caught the ball.
"We won!" BdoubleO yelled excitedly as air horns blared signifying their victory, and the entire rest of their team rushed over to congratulate Guude.
BdoubleO stayed back for the chaotic first few minutes as everyone else on their team said their congratulations before he skated over to Guude, smiling widely at his partner.
"Great job, Guude! That was an amazing catch!" he told Guude, who laughed awkwardly at the praise.
"It wasn't really that good, guy... I'm sure you would've done even better if it hadn't been for that one guy on their team," Guude told BdoubleO.
"You're definitely the best player on the team, Guude, don't discount yourself!" BdoubleO convinced him, making sure to be extra persuasive with a quick kiss on the cheek.
"Hey!" one of the people from the opposite team called out to BdoubleO and Guude, waving them over. The two exchanged a glance but decided to skate over to see what was going on anyways.
"I just wanted to congratulate you on winning just now. You did pretty good, and me and my friend Millbee here were wondering if you wanted to join us in some 2v2 rounds here?" the man who had called them over said. "Oh, my name's Coe, by the way."
"Hey, Coe!" they both greeted the new man and introduced themselves as well.
"Did ya want to just play for a little while longer since you didn't get much of a chance to play for long during the competition, BDubs?" Guude asked, and BdoubleO smiled.
"Sure thing! We'd be happy to take you two on!" BdoubleO told their opponents, shaking hands and going to get their equipment back on before the game began again.
Once they had gotten all their equipment on, and the game set up, the game began. All four of them rushed to the middle for the dodgeballs, and everyone but Guude managed to grab one. BdoubleO immediately lobbed his at the man he presumed to be Millbee, but missed. Millbee and Coe then both nodded at each other aimed both of theirs at Guude, Guude barely ducking to avoid them.
“Whoa, these guys are good” BdoubleO said, helping Guude up. “Guude, we better use that new strategy we were talking about earlier”
“Um, I thought that was a joke, Boo?” Guude said, chucking a ball at the other team and missing.
“Well, I think it could still work!” BdoubleO shouted, rolling past a flying dodgeball.
"God... You're pretty insane, you know that, right?" Guude asked, rolling his eyes even as a grin set itself on his face. Guude whipped around to head the opposite direction he'd been heading, narrowly avoiding another dodgeball as he picked a fallen one up off the ground on his way past it, speeding up as he went.
BdoubleO skidded to a stop, looking around for another dodgeball for their plan to work, and upon locating one, made a beeline towards it. Coe and Millbee clearly saw that something was up, because they took aim to pelt BdoubleO. One ball went long, slamming into the wall to BdoubleO's left, and BdoubleO instinctively flinched away, and the second ball whizzed past where BdoubleO had just been skating. He breathed a sigh of relief as he was able to safely retrieve the ball, at which point he signaled Guude with a whistle and a nod once they made eye contact.
Guude sped up, pushing himself as hard as he could as he rushed towards a tall ramp. BdoubleO skated at an equally swift pace, keeping low with a tall wall too his left.
Please let this not blow up in our faces, BdoubleO begged, coming up on the end of the wall, and out of the corner of his eye, he saw Guude racing up to the top of the ramp, then off, racing skyward until the point he was held, suspended in space as he was about to fall.
BdoubleO jumped up against the wall, pushing himself as fast as he could humanly manage as he kicked off it, flying diagonally towards Coe and Millbee. And he released the ball, sending it barreling towards Coe's left.
But Guude knew what he needed to do, and as he saw BdoubleO throw, he threw his ball as well, sending it to intercept BdoubleO's.
The red spheres rushed forward, and BdoubleO swore he saw it happening in slow motion. His ball flew to Coe's right, and Guude's ball came in from the side, slamming into the ball and redirecting it, sending BdoubleO's ball back towards Coe, smacking him in the chest, sending him back a number of feet as he fought to keep himself upright against the sudden hit. Guude's ball, redirected by the impact against BdoubleO's, shot at Millbee then, who had the time to register the ball, but not enough to avoid it. He was struck by the ball in the stomach, bending him over as he rolled backwards in his skates.
“Holy shit that actually worked!” Guude said, rolling up next to BdoubleO, who was standing, looking just as awestruck as he was.
“Wow… I mean, that was spectacular!” BdoubleO yelled, pulling Guude into a hug, then grabbing the cheeks of his partner and planting a kiss on his lips. “We did it!”
“Hell yeah, we did!” Guude said triumphantly. Coe and Millbee skated over, laughing a bit at how Guude and BdoubleO were acting about winning, but they shook hands with their opponents graciously, wishing them good luck as they progressed further in their games. As they left, Millbee called out to them from near the exit.
“You two are a cute couple, by the way! Good luck with that, even more than the games!” And then the man closed the door, leaving BdoubleO and Guude both blushing from the blatant comment about their relatio
nship.
“I’m glad that we have something fun like this to do together,” Guude said after a minute of silence. BdoubleO murmured his agreement before he spoke again.
“I’m tired as hell. Can we go home and wash off?” Guude grinned and kissed his boyfriend before skating over to gather up their things.
“As long as we’re together, I think I can oblige getting cleaned off.” BdoubleO’s face brightened a few shades, but he skated after Guude to gather up their things and head home for a rinse in the shower.
