Our party of six heads towards the Dragonlands, and things don't exactly go smoothly for them.
I'm not the best at fight scenes (you may have figured this out already) so I apologize in advance.

Chapter Twenty-One
Kingdom of Illian, July 20, year 373. Time instance 483Z.
It had been four days by the time they reached the mountains bordering the Dragonlands. They could feel the energy of the dragons radiating from the place, warning all mortals away or they would be eliminated for trespassing.
“We’ve got to be out of our goddamn minds.” Pause muttered.
“I don’t think we should all go in.” Paul admitted. “If we die, only some of us should go down. It’s a stealth mission anyway, isn’t it?”
“We need everyone.” Blame argued. “If it comes to a fight, I want all five of you at my back.”
“Even me?”
“Yes, Vechs. You’re decent in battle, at least with a bow and when you have a sword better than stone.” Blame looked over their group. “Does anyone not want to go in?”
Pause sighed. “I don’t want to go but I’m not letting you all die. I’ll come along.”
Aureylian smiled at him. “Thanks Pause. If I’m going to burn to death, I want to not burn alone.”
“If we’re done being cheerful, let’s get going.” Nebris said dryly.
“I agree.” Blame drew his sword and led the way into what he called Fellnor’s Pass, a ravine through the mountains that lead from the mortal-settled world into the area called the Dragonlands. The ravine was charred black from flame, making it appear almost as if it was made of obsidian when it was truly just rock.
After walking for a few minutes, they found runes carved onto a wall.
“Dranonic.” Nebris muttered. “It’s probably a warning. I know a few words of the language but I can’t read their script…”
“Vefer vorr zarok Dragos-verma’ex yulvan shun celkar dohm dramon.” Vechs mumbled quietly.
They all stared at him.
“How did you…how…” Nebris sputtered.
“I don’t know.” Vechs confessed, looking over the text again. “What did I say? I don’t know.”
“Something about don’t enter the Dragonlands unless something about flame. Probably a warning that they’ll burn you to death if you go in. How did you read that?!”
“I told you, I don’t know.”
Blame’s eyes narrowed.
Suspicions.
Had his suspicions that Vechs was indeed descended from Iilthrid, one of the creators of Minecraftia, been correct? Iilthrid had indeed been part dragon…
He shook it off. He’d find out, soon enough.
“Let’s keep going.” he finally said, and led the way down the ravine. Everyone had their weapons drawn- Vechs, Pause, and Nebris with bows, and Blame, Aureylian, and Paul with their blades.
They were nearing the end of the ravine- it had turned at one point and they could see trees on the other side- when they met their first dragon.
A roar shook rocks loose and a large red dragon landed in front of them. It was barely small enough to land in the ravine without clipping its wings, but Vechs took a guess that it was about twenty feet long.
It was a light red color, with its belly being a lighter red and its back being darker. It had two massive batlike wings that it folded neatly onto its back as it landed. Its claws, two horns, and backspines were all black, as was the arrowhead at the end of its tail. It had dark green reptilian eyes, narrowed in hostility.
“Verlak gaf kotkor! Bar buk! Verlak!” it roared, lashing its tail and shattering a boulder.
“It wants us to leave!” Nebris shrieked.
“I guessed!” Blame raised his sword and Pause took aim.
“Don’t kill it!” Aureylian pushed at Pause’s arm as he released the arrow, fouling his shot.
“It wants to kill us!”
“We’re here for the good of the world! Maybe we can reason with it!” She sheathed her sword and stepped forward. “We come in peace! We need help to save this world! Please-“
The dragon did not speak the common tongue, so it had no idea what she was saying. Deciding to just destroy these mortals, it took a deep breath and opened its mouth, flames building quickly.
“MOVE!” Vechs tackled Aureylian out of the way as the fire shot out of the dragon’s mouth. The others quickly scrambled out of the way as well, but the dragon’s head followed Pause, who had tried to attack it.
Blame charged forward and slashed at the dragon, delivering a painful cut through its scales on its muzzle. The flames stopped as it screamed in pain, raising its head out of Blame’s reach. Dark red dragon blood spattered the rocks below it as it bellowed in rage. It swiped at Blame, earning a cut in the foot.
“Get a claw from it and let’s go!” Nebris shouted, firing an arrow at the dragon only to have it uselessly bounce off of the red scales. The dragon blasted fire at Blame but he rolled out of the way. He charged for its feet but it leaped into the air, wings unfolding to carry it up. It paused in a hover after gaining some altitude and began shooting fireballs at them, roaring when another arrow bounced off of it. By now five of them were shooting, minus Aureylian, who was insisting that they didn’t need to fight it.
Due to missing upwards of a dozen times, and considering how much energy it took to hover, the dragon landed again and swiped at Blame. He sliced off a good half of a claw, making the dragon scream in pain and blast flame again. This time, the fire hit someone.
Pause shrieked as the side of the blast seared his leg, falling as he could no longer support his own weight.
“We have it! Let’s get out of here!” Blame tossed the claw to Vechs to stick in his toolbelt before rushing off down the ravine. Paul and Nebris stopped to help Pause in their escape. Vechs and Aureylian followed, but the dragon was furious and not done with them yet.
“Humanos’ex gartralk ak vakzen! Humanos’ex arrohkah ak davklaen!” it screamed before blasting more flames at them. Vechs and Aureylian, the only ones in range, moved out of the way, but through the cover of the flames it have pounced forward and took a swing with its uninjured front paw at Aureylian.
Vechs tried to stab the dragon’s paw but it shifted and shattered his stone sword.
Again.
It swung at them again, and Vechs lashed out with his bare hands, having nothing better and forgetting his bow. He couldn’t let the dragon kill Aureylian. Him, yeah, sure, whatever. That would suck ass but it was his fault Aureylian was in on this whole thing and he didn’t want her to die.
He would never forgive himself if she did.
One of the dragon’s claws caught Aureylian in the right shoulder, ripping it open and causing blood to pour out. She shrieked in pain and fell to her knees, trying to stem the flow of blood with her left hand.
Something angry and inhuman triggered in Vechs’s mind and dark claws extended from his fingers as he struck, cutting through scale and making the dragon roar and scramble back in surprise. A human, with claws? How?
What surprised the dragon even more was the flame that overcame Vechs in his rage, and the figure that replaced him when it faded. The dragon had never felt that kind of magical power before, nevermind from a-
That was not a human.
Monstrous.
Seven and a half feet tall of raging, pissed off Vexian monster roared at the dragon. Seven and a half feet of pissed off monster blasted his own flame, ineffective again the dragon, but more of an intimidation attack then anything. Seven and a half feet of pissed off monster spread his wings and leaped at the dragon, landing on its head and clawing at it.
The others had, by now, heard the commotion and come running back. They were surprised to see Vechs in his monstrous form- he hadn’t been in it before- but they weren’t too shocked, as they had known him first as the monster.
Aureylian was caught in a haze of shock and agony, staring at the battle between Monstrous Vechs and the dragon. Blame helped her up and pulled her back to where Paul, Pause, and Nebris were hanging back. “Come on! Vechs can handle himself, we need to get out of here!”
The dragon had thrown Vechs off but was clearly scared shitless of the smaller, faster creature that was immune to its flame and did not tremble in its presence. Confused, hurt, and scared, the dragon did the logical thing.
It shot a distress flare into the sky, spread its wings, and took off to flee.
Vechs wasn’t about to let it escape. His mind had switched from logical and calculating to enraged and running on instinct. He easily scaled the walls and leaped on the dragon’s back as it tried to flee. It screamed as his claws slashed at its wing joints, shaking and trying to get him off.
“Vechs! Leave it! Come on!” Blame shouted.
“Vechs! It’s fleeing! Come back!” Paul called as well.
“Davion, you get your ass back here and help treat our wounds, this is your fault you asshole!” Pause added helpfully.
The dragon, now high in the air, did a desperate barrel roll as it flew away, shaking Vechs loose. His sense was slowly coming back, so he spread his wings and glided back to his friends, shaking and feeling his monstrous power lessening. The moment he touched down, he collapsed, fire overcoming him again.
Human.
Blame rummaged through the exhausted Vechs’s toolbelt to find the bandages. He did his best to bandage Aureylian’s wounds before helping Vechs to stand.
“We need to get out of here. Now. Get back down the pass as far as we can before making camp and treating injuries.”
They could only travel for about twenty minutes- barely making it out of the pass- before Aureylian whispered that she couldn’t walk anymore and they had to stop. Blame set down Vechs (who was almost unconscious) and started setting up the tents. Once Pause had been set down, Nebris helped him out while Paul gathered some firewood from the trees nearby.
“At least we have the dragon claw.” Pause said, optimistic. “I mean, Aureylian and I are worse than useless for awhile, but we got what we came for.”
“And pissed off the dragons.” Nebris reminded him. “I can almost guarantee that won’t be the last we see of that red dragon.”
As they treated the wounds of Pause and Aureylian, Vechs reflected that he had no idea how to explain that to Aureylian. He also noticed that he had been set in a sleeping bag at some point- he couldn’t recall when- so he closed his eyes and was asleep in seconds. He could worry about Aureylian tomorrow.
Or in his dreams.

And thus is the reason why you're still alive. You're not exactly supposed to fight a dragon bare-handed. Ever.
Unless you're Monstrous :P

Date: Sunday, March 22nd, 2015 02:15 am (UTC)Okay. Apparently we had some confusion about this;
In the first two chapters, Zisteau is NOT a zombie pigman. He is a regular, living pigman, completely unrelated to the undead.
He BECAME a zombie pigman BECAUSE OF THE POTION.
Sorry if this was not clear.
