Fanfic - Holmes
More for amusement from names then anything else. Likely won't go anywhere. Also short.
There had been far more crimes on the server as of late. And not just silly, petty crimes. Troubling crimes of people dying from mysterious sources that went unanswered, of vast reams of land replaced with poison clouds, written notes promising terrible deeds. And while Guude tried to get it under control, he was no detective. So it fell to anyone who wanted to try.
Adlington frowned as he looked over the various odd bits and bobs. It was apparent this was not the B-Teams work. While they could be malicious, the scale was far different, as was the style. They had already been questioned and released. Neither was it Nebris' doing. Adlington frowned as he remembered the interview with Nebris.
“So you aren't at fault. And yet you know who is,” Adlington said, frowning as he leaned against the wall. Nebris shrugged nonchalantly.
“It's not my doing, of course not. No pizzaz, no flair! If it was my doing, you'd know. And no, I'm not going to tell you who's behind it. We made a gentleman's agreement,” Nebris said with a wave of his hand.
All other questions had been rebuffed. Adlington was sure Nebris was telling the truth, but so far, he was unsure who was at fault. Although he still did have a lead. Pause had been acting erratically as of late. He had been keeping an eye on him after the Team Canada pranks, and Pause's very normal habits had changed.
And so here he was, stalking Pause in the cold, at night, in the pitch dark. He would have cursed, but he grinned as he saw Pause was meeting with someone. They seemed to be going over some sort of plans. Craning his neck, he saw that it seemed to be a massive project to steal one of the buildings from spawn. So Pause was one of the masterminds. But he had someone elses help. He couldn't quite tell who it was, so he sneaked closer so he could hear better.
“So, see, if we bring in the cows at exactly the right time, it will cover the sounds of the equipment, and we can take the entire building...Pause are you listening at all?” the voice said, sounding slightly vexed. Adlington frowned. He was sure he should remember that voice.
“Yeah yeah, I'm listening. I'm not sure why you get to be Moriarty. We don't even have a Sherlock yet. And anyway, you should be Moran, because...what are you looking at?” Pause said, turning around.
“I'm looking at our Sherlock, Pause. And I'm Moriarty because you aren't smart enough,” the voice said.
Shrugging, Adlington dusted off his coat, strolling into the room.
“You'd be Moran because it's your name,” Adlington said, nodding at Rob. He knew he had seen him hanging around Pause before.
“So why are you two playing criminals? Your style always seemed more...laidback then that,” Adlington said. He was fairly certain they had no plans to kill him, they seemed more to be playing at some grand game.
Rob pursed his lips before leaning against the table. “Well little Sherlock who's name I'm not sure of” “Ads” “We don't need to run ads, we aren't on twitch, but little Sherlock, I got bored. So I decided to play a game. It went on for a bit longer then I thought. I was sure someone on the server was smart enough to give me a run for my money. Etho and Seth both refused to get involved, but you...I wasn't expecting you. You're smart though. I like that. We'll have to play again!”
Adlington frowned when he heard the distinct sound of redstone firing when Rob pulled away from the table. “Have fun!” Rob said as he ducked under the table, pulling Pause with him.
The room exploded in brilliant white light before Adlington woke up in his bed.
“I seem to have gotten myself tangled up in a terrible, terrible game. Reminder to self, smack Pause a bit when I see him later,” Adlington said with a sigh.
