And it's time for another sunday chat post. Wooo!

A short announcement that there is now a Mindcrack Kink Meme that you all should definitely go check out. And a reminder that the little bell icon on posts lets you track that post i.e. have dw send you e-mails or dw messages depending on what options you select whenever a new comment or top-level comment is posted on that post.

Things have been a little quieter on the salad this week, going back into the usual routine after last weeks bit of drama, but the same can't be said for the Skype chat. Many of the newer saladers have taken up the offer and joined us in our religious cult of worshipping ships (pun not intended) and sacrificing the young. Those who have joined seem to be settling in nicely, albeit causing quiet a ruckus with a consistent boost in the amount of messages in the chat each day equal to the American summer holidays around the time I first joined the chat and man it is crazy in there (though I like crazy).

On the Mindcrack server, things have been a bit buggy as of late, quite similar to the issues that we're having with the salad server, but it has been mentioned that at least some of the problem will be fixed in 1.8 so hopefully that happens and things can smooth out a bit for everyone, especially poor Guude who has been really working hard as of late (and in my opinion is really overdue for a break or at least a good nights worth of sleep). The B-Team have claimed to be coming clean and have opened up a bakery with supposedly legitimate service and while I'm sceptical that their intentions are clean, we may see a little more nice-guy b-team hanging around. Do you guys think we should trust this change of heart? As for shippy goodness, Pixelmon has started up with MC, Anderz, Beef, Pause, Pyro, and TerasHD, with Beef and Pause splitting from the others to do their videos together, thus supplying wonderfully shippy mentions of Beef and his nurse outfit and how distracting Pause finds it. ;)

After a few weeks without one, there is also a new podcast out with Old Man Willakers as the guest, and while I've yet to watch it (am going to do so right after writing this) I'm sure it's going to be side-side-splitting hilarious, especially with Pause and Rob who make quite the pair. Which by the way reminds me of there recent influx of shippy fics since those two just can't help but feed the shippers and also brings out the distinct lack of a short but catchy ship name for them. Any suggestions on that?

As with the salad files project, that is coming along nicely, now being near the end of August after being distracted by some of the great fics in both July and August including Nannyn's The Kingdom series, some of damnreddits reposts (well, actually all of them since her writing is amazing), and of course Ms. Mods To Wait, To Watch, To Wish. And looking through the stats, somewhere in early August 2013, scaredykitty posted her 100th fic to the salad, being one of are most proficient writers, having by far written contributed the most fics to the salad since her joining roughly this time last year, so a bit of a round of applause for her. Also a short reminder that nominations for the Best Of compilation for the Salad Files Project closes at 1pm American EST on Sunday the 19th so if you see this post before then, be sure to put in your last minute nominations.

And before I forget, I've seen a few people posting fics tagging mindcrackers which is great, but a couple of you have been forgetting two other very important tags, so please remember to use the fanfiction tag on all fics and the nsfw tag on fics marked nsfw or 18+.

The poor guy, I hope he gets this sorted out and delegated so he can get some rest. ): As for the B-Team, well, I don't trust anything those two do together. PARTICULARLY when the winky faces are used. And pixelmon, pixelmon's gonna be great. I know Pause has some doubts about how much series potential it has, but I think it'll turn out fine with the occasional co-ops that are bound to happen. (I love co-ops)

PauseUnWillakers is what I've been calling it in my head, though the Brause suggestion by Silvercheers gave me a good laugh XD Whatever we end up calling it, it's quickly becoming one of my favorite ships. Which is saying something, because I'm not a shippy kind of person.

The extra activity on the Salad Skype chat warms the dark corners of my heart... I think the chat is even more active now than it was when I first joined :D

Can't wait for the Salad Files to be finished! You probably have enough people working on it by now as is, but if you ever want any help feel free to ask me. I'd gladly lend a hand.

I'm to tired to remember, so if there was an other place where we're supposed to suggest stories, but I just noticed that the Cuddly!Pak story+epilouge by silvercheers aren't in the list. I think they need to be in there, as they are well written and they have a non-shippy theme (which we need more of) while sill fulfilling all the shippy needs to those who want to see some there Xb

Beefs skin in Pixelmon was just astonishing....i really hope to find more pixelmon videos! I liked the OlManWilly podcast it was...very ...entertaining :) i liked the part where a guy asked the question of anderz as pauses dad and beef as pauses mom xD.

random issue, but i wanted to bring up the possibility of having a kinda anon kink meme here? where there's a post and anons (or not anons) ask for prompts to be filled and ficcers pick and choose and fill prompts. with kink memes, it's mostly smutty, but it doesn't have to be.

That actually sounds like a really good idea, especially because with comments there's an option for members to post as an anon without logging out on top of those without an account being able to comment.
And there are a bunch of us who like to read and / or write a good kinky fic but have felt too awkward about it to bring it up. I normally get similarish requests on tumblr but not everyone in salad has tumblr, yet alone takes anon requests on tumblr. Gee, you could probably even set up the post yourself and put it under the prompts tag and people would wander in there when looking for a good prompt to write up.

I got so exited when I saw the new B-Team stuff. I'm absolutely certain they are not to be trusted, but that's the way I love it! :D As some people may have guessed Genny is probably my favorite mindcracker (probably because he's the one who I discovered mindcrack through, plus I just love his seance of humor and shiz <33) but when he's with bdubs it makes him even more amazing! They just interact so well and seem like such genuinely amazing friends (or partner in crime) I'm really looking forward to what ever they have planned. ;3

Now I'm off to watch the new podcast and get some work done! ^^

The new B-Team is very interesting to me and I laughed really hard during that episode.

Pixelmon is going to be great. I recently downloaded it myself and I love it so much. Beef's mispronunciations of the Pokemon is great. And Beef's nurse outfit.. Dang. xD It's so great. Pauseunbeef fics must happen from that.

As for the ship name.. uh.. I have no idea. xD But that is now one of my favorite ships. Ever. I love Rob. <3

In Beef's episode he saw the B-Team bakery and signed up saying there would probably be a catch, but why not? I don't believe the two of them will ever be angels, there will always be a catch. Always. Without a doubt.

I think I might take a look at this pixelmon thing, if there's shippy goodness in it.

For ship names, I saw a mention of "PauseUnWillakers". Going off that, I'm thinking of PauseWillakers, because that's three syllables, PauseUnBeef is three, PauseUnpause is three, etc. I think shippy names work best with two or three syllables... I've actually been playing in my mind about making a table with the best ship names for each pair in mindcrack, so have each Mindcracker along the top and side and fill it in... Maybe eventually it'll happen.

Also, with the podcast, at about the 30 minute mark, continuing for quite a few minutes, was some arguing, with pause shouting at everyone. I was literally laughing out loud. Also, at about the fourteen minute mark, they were talking about the PlayMindcrack server, and saying they might have alternate lobbies, and even eventually fan-made lobbies. I think it would be cool if that happened, and we could work together to make a Salad Lobby. Also, at the 58 minute mark, the question about Dad!Anderz, Mum!Beef and Son!Pause was especially funny. Beef immediately said "Pause is adopted", while the others tried to come up with situations, and then Beef cut short the conversation, saying "it was getting weird". I think you should all at least listen to that part (58 minutes, something seconds).

I'm looking forward to the Salad Files. Can you tell us what categories? I noticed (when looking through my bookmarked fics) that I like gory fics. Is there a category for "death" or "blood, guts, and gore" or something? Also, I'm happy to help, but since you're nearly done, you might not need it...

One of the suggested genre categories is "dark" but those are still being discussed. ^^

Edit: now that I think about it, we should probably have a warning tag for deathfic. And unless Sunset gets to it first, I'll get back to you on the list of genre tags we have right now. The list is still under construction, so it you have any suggestions we'd be happy to have them.

I took a look at Pixelmon and I'm hooked. I have a friend who watches Minecraft videos and who (like me) is a dead sub to paulsoaresjr because he was the first one she watched and she doesn't have the heart to unsub, etc etc. Anyway, I've been trying to figure out how to get her to watch mindcrack for a while now. She likes Pokemon, so I've been feeding her that in the hopes she goes looking for other stuff Beef has done (yes, I'm evil. I'm training her to like Beef, since he's doing a pixelmon. If he wasn't, I'd give her someone else, but I'm lucky). Do you think I should speed the process along, and give her some regular mindcrack videos, or would I just scare her?
