Fanfic: A Common Interest pt 1.
Hellooooo Salad-Eaters!
I was so happy from the positive feedback you guys gave me on my first fic! (I actually exploded from joy about four times XD). So now I bring you... another fanfic!
This one is probably only going to be a two-shot or three-shot, but I figured What the heck
It's Nebsy and Etho :3 Enjoy!
Being the dishonest and cheaty person the he was, Nebris had found himself staying after class yet again for causing mischief. The teacher put her hands on her hips and looked down at Nebris, "You know why your here, Nebris." She said sternly. He only scoffed and looked away. The teacher folder her arms. "If I catch you cheating on an assessment, or taking something out a someone else's bag without permission, you'll be in detention for a month!" Nebris looked up with disbelief. This is freaking ridiculous! "For now," she continued, "Two days worth should be plenty to get the message across. You are free to go." With that Nebris grabbed his bag and bolted to the door, taking extra care to slam it with a force.
School had been over for a while, but seeing that it was a boarding school, there were still students roaming around. A lot of clubs were going on at the moment, but Nebris paid no attention. He just wanted to get back to his dorm and fall asleep listening to more recordings on learning Japanese. There was homework too, but really who cared about that. He supposed he should, but Japanese came as priority #1 to him. That and video games. But they weren't allowed on campus. Really, who decided that? Completely unnecessary! He laughed to himself as he headed back to the boys' dorms.

How again did I manage to get lost? Nebris scratched his head as he found himself in the science building yet again. This was only the second month of school, so he could understand the getting lost part. But seriously! Isn't the boys dormitory like on the opposite side of campus from where I am now? Nebris continued to complain in his mind when he bumped into something. A person he soon found who was now on his knees picking up the books he had dropped. Nebris recognized the boy he had bumped into. It was that kid in his computer science class, the one with white hair and a bad eye. He didn't talk much in class, but that wasn't to say he didn't have a knack for programming.
"Hey, your Etho right?" Nebris asked, kneeling down to help the boy pick up his books. Etho nodded but didn't say anything, more focused on getting the books in his arms and out of sight. Nebris shrugs as he picks up a book with a colorful cover. Upon closer inspection he realised the book was a manga, Naruto: Volume 3 to be exact. Upon even closer inspections, Nebris found that the volume wasn't one from the school library. It was in Japanese. "Hey," Nebris started again. "Do you speak Japanese?"
To this Etho finally spoke up: "A little, I can read it better than speak it." He blushed a little, butting a hand behind his head. Nebris was still intrigued. "I've been teaching myself how to speak it. I didn't know anyone else to interest." Nebris said. They stood up and he handed Etho the books. Etho's expression had become more cheery and friendly. "Did you know there is a Japanese club at school?" Etho asked. "I was on my way to a meeting but I had to drop off something in computer science." Etho looked at his watch. "Although it looks like I'll miss it, it's all the way in the arts building which is like opposite of campus." Etho realized he was beginning to ramble and stopped his thought.
Nebris was still speechless. For some reason he couldn't completely fathom, Etho had just erased his ability to speak for even form sentences in his mind. But what he was certain of was that Etho knowing Japanese wasn't the real cause of it. Although it did have something to do with him. Etho stopped talking and made a small noise. Nebris at that point realized he had been staring. He cleared his throat and looked away, trying to think of something to say.
"Well, um, I'm going to head to the dorms," Etho said, getting all his books under one arm. "It was nice meeting you." "Wait." Nebris interjected, almost in desperation. "I'm kind of lost here. Could you show me the way back to the dorms?" Now it was Nebris blushing out of embarrassment. Etho smiled at him.
"Sure thing. We can walk back together." He said as he started walking. "And one more thing," Nebris said, stopping him. "I'm Nebris." He held out his hand to Etho. "Nice to meet you." Etho looked at his hand before taking and shaking it. "Etho, it's a pleasure." The two of them walked down the corridor, talking about how the two of them got interested in Japanese. Nebris got better with his words, almost getting into boasting mode, but restraining himself. Something inside him didn't feel like showing off to Etho. Not just yet.
Yeah, kind of ended it weird. I guess I'll leave you guys to guess what happens next. Oooooo!
