ShortFic: Sickness
MC requested a ship on twitter and I had some free time (whilst procrastinating on doing logs for my drama) and thought I'd fulfill the request by writing a fic. As it's only short, I'm not sure if a cut is needed but I'll add one for safety
Coughing filled the room as MCGamer walked in, covering his mouth as his mouth projected the sounds. He looked around the room and slowly made his way across to the other side. He opened up the reflective cupboard and looked inside, searching for a certain small bottle.
“C’mon… where are you?” He coughed again, groaning as the vibrations hurt his head.
Then he saw it. He reached in, grabbed it and sighed in relief as he realised it was actually real and able to be grabbed. The man smiled at it. It was just what he needed.
He took it out of the room and walked back to his own room, through the rest of the house – still coughing and going as slow as possible. Once in the safety of his own place, he gently kissed the top of the bottle before opening and drinking some of its contents.
He sighed in relief again as he felt the liquid flow down his throat. Replacing the lid, he gave the bottle a look over again with a smile. Cold medicine was his love and saviour now.

It had been, of course, love at first sight. Having groggily arrived at the medicine cabinet, he knew only a special kind of passion could cure the terrible illness that plagued him. The subtle curves of the bottle, the deep rich color of its fluid, and most importantly, the promise of sweet relief called out to him, and he knew it was meant to be. If love was a drug, it was a generic brand over the counter drug, and he was more than willing to fall under its influence.
Taking it into his willing hands, he palmed the cap, knowing just how to push down before turning to bypass the child proof lid and access the intoxicating contents within. Faint from anticipation-- or perhaps that was the fever-- he carefully measured the recommended dosage with the knowledge he should not operate heavy machinery for at least eight hours, and swallowed. It was a small sacrifice for the blissful numbness that would soon coat his irritated throat, and he savored the way the taste stayed with him even as he followed with a glass of water.
Securing the cap again, he shuffled off to collapse in his chair, holding the bottle against him for no other reason than to have it near.
