Or I could stop reading here and come up with my own ending. Maybe in my mind, everything is ok for Dezeray for awhile, then a car crash kills her, or a natural disaster rips apart her world again, or she lives happily with Mc until she's old and dies of cancer. Maybe she wakes up from a comma to find her parents are still alive but Mc and Kurt and Zisteau never existed, or maybe things with Mc fall apart and she ends up killing herself for real this time, but Mc also suicides. Maybe I will continue to read the story, but when it ends badly I will reimagine it and make it happy. Because in my mind, spoiler alert, Dumbledore is still alive, Prim and Rue are still alive, the original Iirkolav is still alive. I have more than hope, I have the power to reimagine the world. Because the power to determine the direction of a story, the ending, lies not with the author, but the reader who chooses to believe the author.
