Kurt's POV
I woke up to the beep of my wrist COM. I groggily lean over and grab it, yawning loudly.
(Zisteau-Z/Kurt-K)
Z: can you come to the lens, I want to show you something!
K: sure i'll be over in an hour or so
Z: awesome, I love you, see you when you get here.
K: love you too.
I slowly start getting up. I glance at the clock, it's only 9. Ugh. Why did it have to be so early.
I get around and head upstairs to grab something quick to eat.
I whistle for Wolfie to follow as I walk out the door and through spawn town. I see Guude standing by the portal.
"Hey guy" Guude says
"Hi"
"You on your way to Z's?"
"Yup, he wants to show me something."
"Figures" Guude says with a laugh.
"Well, I'll see you later." I say and step through the portal.
It's really hot in the nethe,. I've never been a big fan of it, but I know Z loves it here.
I walk down Z's tunnel and through the portal. I step onto the cool sandstone of the lens, thankful to be out of the heat.
"Hey Z, I'm here" I call out.
"Hold on" I hear from the distance
There's a cracking sound and Z appears in front of me, which causes me to jump.
"Sorry" Z says
"It's ok" I say and wrap my arms around Z's waist.
I bring Z into a kiss. we stay like that for a while, before I finally pull away.
"So what did you want to show me?" I ask
"I built a new level!" Z says excitedly
"Awesome" I say
Z leads me through the lens, heading up a bunch of steps and finally into a dimly lit area.
I come to a dead stop. The new level is amazing. It has a telescope and a bunch of star charts set up. It would be perfect for star gazing!
"Wow Z.... this is amazing!" I say
"I knew you'd love it!" Z says before kissing me.
I finally pull away, intent on examining the telescope. I walk over towards the telescope which is positioned towards the edge.
I hear running behind me and I turn to look but have a searing pain shoot through me. I scream in agony as I feel like I'm falling, unable to catch myself. The world slowly goes black as I finally find something, that something hitting my back hard.
Zisteau's POV
I hear light foot steps near me, and turned to see a creeper maybe a foot from Kurt, who was oblivious to its existence.
I run as fast as I can and swing at the creeper but, I was too late. It blew up. I went flying backwards, a searing pain shooting through my head. I hear Kurt scream in agony.
"Kurt" I call out, but get no response.
I hear a loud thud and jump to my feet, running over to the edge. I see Kurt's body laying on the ground limp.
"KURT" I scream and chuck an ender pearl landing right beside him.
"Please be ok, please!" I say, but get no response.
I hit the call button on my wrist COM and call Doc.
"Hello" Doc says
"Help, Kurt's really hurt" I say my voice full of panic.
"Be there soon" Doc says and the call drops.
I look at Kurt, his leg is bent the wrong direction. He looks terrible.
I feel so bad knowing it is my fault he is hurt. I feel tears running down my cheeks and dripping off my chin.
"What happened?" I hear Doc ask as he runs to over to Kurt.
"Creeper..... blew up..... he fell." I manage to say between sobs.
"We have to get him back to the hospital now" Doc says
I carefully pick up Kurt, rushing back to the hospital with Doc.
Doc messages someone on his wrist COM.
Guude's POV
I was working in my office at town hall, trying to finish some paper work when my wrist COM beeps.
(Guude-G/Doc-D)
D: hospital now
G: why what's wrong?
D: just meet me there.
G: k
That was weird, but it must be really important. I grab my sword and hurry over to the hospital.
I got there at the same time as Doc, who was being followed by Z, who was carrying an unconscious Kurt in his arms.
"What happened?" I ask
"I'll explain later." Doc says ushering Z inside.
Zisteau's POV
Doc ushers me into the hospital and to a room. I lay Kurt on the bed as instructed.
"I need you to leave the room." Doc says.
"B-b-b-but I don't.... want to leave Kurt." I manage stuttering
"I know but you need to." Doc says, an apologetic look on his face.
I leave the room and collapse in a chair, feeling so guilty.
It's all my fault. I should have been more careful. I shouldn't have been so eager to show Kurt. I should have waited... I should've been more careful.
Doc's POV
Z left the room as instructed. I hit the call button on my wrist COM and call Jsano.
"Room 105 now" I say and hang up.
Jsano runs into the room.
"Get an IV ready" I instruct him
Jsano gets it ready while I check Kurt's vitals. He still has a fairly steady heartbeat, which is good. He isn't waking up though.
I inject the IV into Kurt's arm. Once I know he is stable I move to check his leg.
I check and find that it's broken in multiple spots, which means he'll need a full leg cast.
"Jsano, get the stuff for a full leg cast" I instruct.
"Got it" Jsano says before leaving the room.
I move to check Kurt's head, noticing some extremely bad bruises. I can already tell that he has a concussion.
Jsano rushes back into the room. We carefully put on the cast, making sure Kurt's leg is positioned correctly. I head out of the room.
Guude's POV
I follow them into the hospital and see Z in a chair, an emotional wreck.
I walk over to him. "You need a hug?"
Z looks at me and nods, shakily standing up.
I bring him into a hug. He Buries his face in my shoulder, and I rub his back trying to comfort him.
"I-I-it's all my fault" Z stutters out
"What is?" I ask
"Kurt getting hurt, it's all my fault."
"I don't think it is." I counter
"But it is, I didn't light up the area properly, I was to excited to show him."
"It's ok Z it was just an accident, Kurt will be ok."
"H-h-how can you say that, he isn't even conscious."
"Cause I know he will pull through."
Z doesn't respond and just continues to cry onto my shoulder.
Doc walks out of the room Kurt's in.
"Message Vechs" I mouth
Doc nods and starts typing on his wrist COM.
Vechs' POV
I pull away, having heard a beep from my wrist COM. Chad pouts, but I ignore him.
(Doc-D/Vechs-V)
D: get to the hospital now
V: why?
D: Just get here i'll explain when you do
V: k be there soon
"I've got to go, I'm so sorry" I say getting up.
"Awe why?" Chad asks, still pouting adorably.
"I've got to get to the hospital"
"Why?"
"I dunno, but I guess it's urgent"
"Oh, alright..... One more kiss?" Chad asks innocently.
I lean in and kiss Chad, who kiss back immediately. Not long after I pull away, regretfully.
"I love you" I say
"Love you too." Chad replies
I regretfully leave Chad's and hurry to the hospital.
I rush in and see a very emotional looking Zisteau.
I run over and bring Z into a big hug.
"What wrong pigderp?" I ask
"Kurt" Is all Z says
I shoot Doc a look, he motions for me to follow him.
"I'll be right back" I say and detach myself from Z.
Doc leads me into a room, where Kurt is laying on the bed, unconscious. He also has a full leg cast, which I can't imagine is comfortable.
"What happened?" I ask
"From what I've been told there was a creeper and it blew up sending Kurt flying to the ground. Beyond a broken leg and a concussion, I have no idea what's wrong. though, I'm hopeful that he'll wake up soon."
"Oh" is all I can manage.
"Z is blaming himself for it."
"I'll try to calm him down, but I don't know how well it will work."
"Thanks"
"Yup" I say and walk out of the room.
I walk over to Z, who is still an emotional wreck.
I really don't know if I can help or not. Kurt is basically the only one that can actually calm him down, but since Kurt can't, I will try.
"Hey.... pigderp" I say gently
Z just looks at me, tears still falling from his blue-green eyes.
"It's gonna be ok pigderp"
"But.... Kurt..."
"I know, but it will be ok, I promise."
"But"
"I will be here for you."
"But, I need Kurt"
"I know Z, but that can't happen right now."
"I know" Z says with defeat
Zisteau's POV
I look over at Doc.
"Can I see Kurt?" I ask
"Yes, but be aware he isn't awake yet." Doc responds
"Ok" I say and walk into Kurt's room.
Kurt has a whole leg cast. I bet that really hurts.
I pull a chair up beside Kurt's bed, sitting down and grabbing his hand.
I feel really bad. I know this is all my fault. I really hope he wakes up soon. I can't stand to see him hurt like this. I just want my boyfriend back.
Vechs walks into the room.
"Hey pigderp, you want to head home?"
"I'm gonna stay here with Kurt." I say
"Ok, just let me know if you need anything."
"Ok" I say
Vechs leaves the room.
I slowly start to fall asleep, my head slowly starting to droop, resting on our hands.
I wake up to Doc walking into the room. I glance at the clock seeing that it's almost noon.
"Good morning Z" Doc says
"Hey" I say
"How are you feeling?"
"Guilty"
A look crosses Doc's face "Do you want something to eat?"
"No, I'm not hungry."
"Ok, well I'll be in my office if you need anything."
"Ok"
I spend the rest of the day just siting beside Kurt.
I'm not hungry in the slightest, so I don't eat anything.
I slowly start to fall asleep.

I was with Kurt on the new level of the lens. It was dimly lit.
I heard the quiet shuffling of feet beside me. I instantly turned around sword ready.
There was a creeper not far from Kurt. I ran over and swung at it with my sword, but it was too late. It blew up.
I heard Kurt scream in agony, then nothing. I ended up on the ground.
I frantically looked around for Kurt, but didn't see him.
"Kurt" I called out, but didn't get a response.
I hear a loud thud. I run over to the edge and see Kurts body laying on the ground limp.
"KURT" I scream

I wake up to Doc shaking my shoulder.
"Are you ok Z?" Doc asks
I shake my head, wiping away tears.
"What's wrong?"
"Nightmare..... It was the accident all over again."
"Oh...."
"Doc?"
"What?"
"Will Kurt ever wake up?"
"I'm not sure Z, he is in a comma. It could either take a long time or barely any."
I don't respond, unable to face the truth.
It should have been me. I should be the one in the comma, not him.
"Hey Z" Doc says bringing me out of my thoughts.
"What?" I respond
"You really need to eat something. I don't want you starving yourself, Kurt wouldn't either."
"Fine" I say, even though I'm not hungry.
I will try, because I know Kurt would want me to.
"I'll be right back with something."
"Ok"
Doc comes back with a tray of food and sets it in front of me. I take a few bites before giving up, feeling as though I'd just throw it up if I ate anymore.
"Thank you for trying" Doc says
I just nod.
He takes the rest and leaves the room, leaving me to contemplate everything.

It's been a month, and I don't know how much longer I can take it.
I'm barley eating and barely sleeping, still being plagued by the nightmares. Almost every night I see the creeper, hear Kurt's scream, and see his body laying on the ground limp.
I really can't take much more. I'm so weak, so hurt, so confused, and just plain lost without Kurt.

I've gotten maybe an hour of sleep in the last week. I know it isn't healthy, but with the nightmares I just can't sleep at all.
I have started eating a little more, especially since Vechs had been watching me like a hawk, making sure I finish every bite.
I haven't gone home in a long time as well.
I miss Kurt so much. I'm so lost without him. I need him, but I can't have him. I really can't take much more of the nightmares and the sleepless nights.

Three months, it's been three months.
I've gotten a little more sleep, thanks to the medicine Doc has me taking.
I'm eating almost regularly, but I still miss Kurt. I really, really need him.

I've almost given up hope that Kurt will ever wake up. Its been four horrible months.
I am almost back to normal. I barely ever have nightmares anymore, and I'm eating regularly.
I just miss Kurt at this point. I'm so lost with out him. I really just want to stop having to see him unconscious in the hospital. I just want this guilt that constantly plagues me to leave.
I just want to see Kurt whole again.
