I completely missed out on Friday like an idiot, but Dreamwidth was down too. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. ;)

How am I playing Minecraft? You mean like how I'm still in version 1.2.5 so I can keep playing with a mod that will seemingly NEVER BE UPDATED? >:| Because yes, that's how I'm still playing!

Hmm, what else to talk about? Seen that finale of Black Desert? Contemplated our place in the wider world of fandom lately? That's what I've been doing! Which is to say, I've been working on a long meta post about things, but I couldn't quite finish it tonight. It's late.

I am not on any servers :/ I never had consoles or games on the computer as a kid so I'm a late game geek xD
I finally got a Xbox for my Christmas and I have it for that. I mostly just derp about on creative and build some fancy houses heh.

I've been playing Sea of Flame 2 with a friend, it's fun but my poor laptop fusses something terrible during gameplay, so actually trying to take on the mobs is a pain. I've only really died of starvation so far though so the mobs aren't too much of a pain. I did yell when a creeper blew up beside me though. Damn things.

though I did mess about on a friend's laptop yesterday for a couple of minutes...
Instead of Minecraft, I've been filling my time with Kingdom Hearts since last night as Jesse McCartney got me all excited as he posted a picture of him doing dubbing for the KH HD 1.5 ReMIX <3

I've been playing FTB lately and after watching Zisteaus Thaumcraft approach I'm looking forward to trying that out as well, however I had no time to do so :(

Iv been playing a lot of adventure maps lately. I also downloaded the extra biomes wolves mod and I've been messing around on creative on that. I died on my sky world though. Suffocated in gravel with no idea of my local. Sigh.

I haven't been playing minecraft much lately, for a couple reasons. One being that I finally quit the public server I was playing on because I got sick of people touching my stuff, and two because I spend a lot of time on campus and minecraft is blocked at my school for some reason.

(I could of course, play singleplayer, but my single player world doesnt have a lot going for it at the moment. I've almost been thinking it might be fun to try mods like FTB or something, but I'm not sure yet haha)

I've been slowly working on my new sp world. I'm really more of a casual player. I haven't got any diamonds yet, but I built an anvil, and I'm making it a goal to name all my tools.

I've also been thinking about making a post but I really don't want my first post to be me running around in my angry queer hat. I would prefer it to be a story of some kind. I have a couple Kurt/Zisteau stories kicking around in my head but I haven't done much more than write outlines and procrastinate.

Short version: a couple really unkind comments from MC in/about one of his Mother 3 videos. If you haven't seen, there's a group of neither-male-nor-female characters introduced in episode 4. MC made a couple, um, "unflattering" comments about them and that was all my tender genderqueer heart could take.

I'm really disappointed, actually. One of his GMMs was all about how he dislikes that kind of mean-spirited bullying. I don't think he meant it maliciously, of course, it was probably just ignorance speaking/the easy joke to make. But my feathers are still ruffled.

Though, like I said. I don't know if this is the place for that, or if it's worth getting into it even. Reddit would mount my head on a wall for bringing it up, but it seems like the kind of discussion that people here might be interested in. I just don't want to step on any toes.

Oh yeah, the magypsies. I wasn't really sure what to make of that scene. I for one wouldn't mind hearing about it from a perspective more knowledgeable than mine.

(Disclaimers: I haven't been watching Mother 3 since I find watching JRPG Let's Plays difficult for some reason, but I am a big MC fan and just watched the episode in question. I'm also cis, but work really hard personally to make not-cis people comfortable, and am dating someone somewhere on that weird wibbly wobbly gendery bendery spectrum.)

I think it is entirely ignorance speaking at that point; it doesn't seem to be malicious in the slightest. I honestly think if you PM'd MC talking frankly about it and sent him some links to basic info about understanding the wide non-cisgendered world, he'd take it very seriously and work hard to address it and change things. It's one of those things that even most queer people don't talk about or know how to talk about (don't get me started on how "LGBT" nowadays seems to just mean "gay" and throw away all the issues pertaining to bi/pansexual and non-cisgendered people, and how the gay community shames bi/pan folk and completely misunderstands non-cis ones....) so it's something many aren't thinking about, even when they're otherwise really conscious of social justice. MC is pretty young - he's under 20! - and hasn't been exposed to a whole ton yet, just because of his age, his interests, and his self-employed state. Be honest with him, cut him a little slack, and I think you'll be surprised about how he improves.

That being said, it is tiring and frustrating to constantly have to educate people - I know! But I think if anyone would be up for being educated and really do something seriously about it, it'd be MC.

Oh I absolutely agree, on all fronts. MC is such a sweet guy, that's why I think it stung so much. And I thought about that, too, just PMing him and saying something, but... I'm just one littler person. And I'm not sure if I'm completely up to convincing someone that I exist. I'm not sure what he would really do, you know. Like, I want an apology, but I don't want to make him apologize. That seems demanding, even though I know it's not unreasonable to expect. (I'm more worried if he did, it would bring out the worst in his comment section, you know? "Don't apologize, you were right to call them such-and-such!") So it's much easier to just be a little miffed and not watch his videos anymore than to try to get his attention.

But then on the other hand, I'm sure I'm not the only non-cis person watching his videos, either. And if I could get him to understand that his fans are going to include just about every kind of person, maybe then it would matter. But, I don't know if I'm capable of being persuasive enough to make someone see me as a human being.

I think I will make a post about it though. Since I'm not sure if I'm articulating my thoughts on it well enough here.

If I was in his position, I would want to know what I was doing that was offensive so I know how to change what I'm doing so I don't do that anymore. I don't want to alienate anyone in my hypothetical audience. And I have limited experience with non cisgendered people, so it would probably be very easy for me to do misrepresent them and not mean or realize it. And I suspect MC's the same way. He'd probably want to know if he accidentally said something hurtful.
